We are back with another update on the new Gantt chart๐.
Thank you for all the feedback you have been sharing while trying it out and through the community post as well. Your input has helped us prioritise our rollout plan and what to improve. Some of the areas you highlighted most were adding support for cascade sorting, greying out non-working days in the timeline,ย manual ordering, creation of public snapshots and the ability to export the Gantt chart as a PDF.ย
โจWhat is available now
ย In additional to all the features we have added in the last couple of months (you can catch up on that in this thread), Manual Ordering is now available in the new Gantt as well. You can manually reorder all item types, which is an improvement over the classic version where only tasks could be reordered. Your custom order is preserved and gives you more flexibility in how you organise your work.ย
๐ What is coming next
ย Early 2026
ย We are currently working on adding snapshots, baselines and export to PDF. Once these are available, the new Gantt will become the default view. You will still be able to switch back to the classic version for any features that may not yet be included.
Addition of the critical path, start constraints, showing task previews and otherย improvements will follow shortly after that.

I just wanted to clarify that when you talk about the new Gantt view becoming the default view that you mean default for the Gantt view, not default over all of the other views, correct?
Kristy Schaan correct. New gantt becoming the default specifically refers to what you will see specifically in the gantt view. It will not affect other views and won't make gantt the default view of the entire account.

A few things below
1. I would still love to see the percent complete option to be available on the new gantt.
2. I would love the option of having an "expand button" next to the project bar on the gantt, for seeing the nested tasks. (like it if for tasks & sub tasks) This would be better than always needing to expand on the far left.ย
3. The status colors on the gantt don't necessarily match the status colors on the gantt.ย The yellow and the aqua green especially are different

โขย Critical Path, please.ย I currently have to jump betweenย classicย andย newย Gantt like itโs multiverse scheduling.
โขย Critical Path filter.ย Let us filter toย critical-path tasks onlyย โ this would be so so handy for focus and reviews.
โขย More robust critical path logic around holidays.ย When it breaks because of a holiday, our PMO loses its chill (we manage very complex aerospace missions).
โข Successors as a Gantt column.ย Would make spotting broken logicย 10ร easierย and save us all from dependency-detective mode...
Add these and the new Gantt becomes an instant PM favorite!
