Auto populate project fields to tasks
Hello we currently use the Project function to add in all the main project details such as customer name, etc. Is there a way of auto -populating the tasks within that project with the same information?
Thanks

I literally just had the SAME discussion with my Manager today and she asked me to look into this. Curious as well!
I've been patiently awaiting this feature for awhile (I recommend you follow and upvote this community post: [Status: Not Planned] Cascade Custom Field "Value" from Folders/Projects to Sub Projects/Folders/Tasks – Wrike Help Center).
Unfortunately, there aren't any possible automations at this time. I have tried to play around with the AI agents which feels like I could probably get closer to the desired result, but it doesn't feel like a realistic solution even if I did figure it out just due to the AI capacities and needing to ensure its applied to projects.
The good news is that the table view makes it easier to click and drag fields to populate fields quickly within the task, so that is a method our team has looked into adopting. That is however, time consuming in itself, but the best solution at this time from my experience.
I fully support this request and see this going into "Product Feedback" as a feature request for automations. This is something we've needed for quite a while as well. Ammita Somiah Thanks for sharing!
Hi Kelsey Rudolph,
thanks for linking the ancient feature request, sad that it's still not planned!
And thanks for sharing your workaround as well. Many of my collegues primarily work with their inbox or dashboards, so as helpful as the new table view is, it's not an equal solution.
Florian
Thanks, everyone, and thank you, Kelsey Rudolph , for sharing the existing feature request. We’ll have more clarity on this suggestion as our product team works on the roadmap for the coming year, and we’ll also be able to update the status. For now, there are no further updates.
Ammita Somiah As others have suggested, one workaround is to use Table view to mass edit cells by dragging the desired value across the column. You can find more information on this here. Let me know if you have any questions 😊

Are you using custom fields for this information? If so, and you are using a request form, it looks like that information might be solicited in the request form and entering it into the request form could populate it into both if you put the same information in two custom fields. This would be more complicated though if there was a chance that it could change during your process. I would love the idea of having a equals formula in custom fields that we could use to replicate information in multiple areas.
