Templates as projects rather than Spaces

I understand why Wrike provides templates as a whole space because you get the custom items, dashboards, etc. but are there any that are just a project template? Like a general project template that would give someone with no project management experience a place to start without all the other items?

Ashley Parrish It sounds like you're talking about a Project Blueprint? Maybe I'm not understanding your use-case?

Joseph Anderson I believe Ashley is referring to only being able to use the Wrike Templates at the space level. You have to create a new space to be able to use any of the blueprints/forms/custom fields/workflows. It would be nice if you could instead sort through those blueprints/forms/custom fields/workflows individually and add them to your current space.

I've seen a lot of great forms and workflow ideas from the templates but I do not want to create an entirely new space just to use one form that I wanted from the new space templates. Instead I'd like to just add that one form to my current space.

Hi Jessica Bargenquast - that makes sense.

These are a little tricky, since direct "Duplicate To" functionality doesn't exactly consistently exist. However, there are some direct options available, and some workarounds to explore.

Forms

  • Looking at Forms within a Space's settings, you can see which Space the From "belongs to", but unfortunately, this can't be edited.
  • However, you can Duplicate a Form, and update it's Settings to allow it to save Responses to another Space.
  • I'm not sure if this would work, or if you need a specific form to be directly copied, but hopefully this helps.

Workflows

  • Workflows can be shared across multiple Spaces, or across an entire Account, by going to the Space where the Workflow currently lives, selecting the Edit icon next to the Space's location, and updating as needed.

Custom Fields

  • Custom Fields can be moved from Space-specific to being available within the full Account by selecting the Custom Field within the Space Settings, clicking on the Custom Field, and clicking on the "Belongs To" field. From there, you can apply it to all Spaces in the Account, making it available within your new Space.

Blueprints

  • Blueprints are just Projects, Folders, or Tasks - and as such can be directly bilocated into other Spaces, and then removed from the original Space. They could also be copied and moved, if they need to be updated without impacting the original version.
