Create a report to show tasks where flexible effort assignment has exceeded the initial plan

Hi,

We use the flexible effort type across our projects to allow our users to plan their days more easily.

This can create a problem though where a user might add more time to a task than was originally assigned.  For example, there may be a task with 20 hours planned, of which 20 hours are assigned to a User1 for delivery over 5 days.  When the task is first assigned Wrike will assign 4 hours per day. However,  User1 might then go into their workload and change the amount of assigned time per day to the following:

Day 1: 5 hours

Day2: 5 hours

Day3: 8 hours

Day4:5 hours

Day5: 5 hours

Without realising it, they have now assigned themselves to 28 hours even though the task was only originally scheduled for 20.

Wrike already detects this happening and formats the effort column for that task in red in table view.  This is very helpful but it's very time consuming to go through every project and look for that red highlight.  I'd therefore like to create a dashboard or a WA report that will show only those tasks where this is a problem (i.e. only show those tasks that are highlighted in red in the table view).

Is this possible?

Hi Phil Taylor! Your Wrike Analyze Master Jedi is here:)

This can be achieved in analytics reports: all you need is to compare Task Effort to Assignee Task Effort. Here's how I'd do it:
  1. Filter the widget to Task Effort Mode = Flexible
  2. Add Task Link, Task Name, and any other necessary dimensions to the Rows section (I would recommend using only the parameters that have some value in every task that is expected to appear in this report).
  3. Add Task Effort and Task Assignee Effort to the Values section. Edit the formulas and add division by /60 to convert the output into hours.
  4. Write a formula that would show the difference between these two metrics. You can also add division by /60 if you'd prefer to display hours:
    (SUM([Assignee Task Effort (minutes)]) - SUM([Task Effort (minutes)]))/60
  5. Filter the widget by the formula >0.
