Change the default project name via Request Form to custom field (Project name)
Dear Wrike community,
We are using a request form to kick-off a project application process which results in a project. The format of the default project name consists of numbers and the space name which is not very helpful, when you have 25+ applications are in the system. Therefore, I am seeking an automation to change the default project name to a custom field in the request form: Project Name.
As we are using the public link, the automation should be as flexible as possible.
Thank you for your support.
Andrea Schmalle - Could you map the Project Name question to the title?
We do what Mike suggested above. We include a question within the form such as 'Request title' with helper text 'Please provide a short title for your request' and link this to the title. Or if we would like the requester to use a certain naming convention for the request/project to match up with our other projects we provide this prompt in the helper text.
Hi Mike, thank you for the hint. That solved my issue :-).
Hi Amy, Thank you for the hint. :-)
Heres a follow up question. No problems using the Request form to create the project Name. Three different request questions make up our Project Name: Requester Name - Request Type - Course Title. It works out great except for one thing: The Project Name (Requester Name - Request Type - Course Title) is generated from the order of the questions in the Request form. We'd prefer a different order: Request Type - Course Title - Requester Name. Is there any way this can be done without re-ordering questions? Thanks!
I've the same issue Jack Whiteman, is not possible for now.
Thanks for the quick response Pietro. Kind of figured that would be the case, but figured I'd at least ask...as my boss will ask if I asked lol. TY!
