Update single select field options after excel import

It would be great to auto-populate the options of a single-select custom field after an excel import. For example I have the field "Animal species" with the options "Cat" and "Dog". I import an excel file with a column "Animal species" in which I also have "Crocodile", "Mouse" and "Elephant". The data is uploaded in the wrike table. It would be great if these options are added to the field itself so that next time when I create a new entry, I can directly select one of the 5 animal species.

I agree - this would be a useful feature to have. I haven't played around with this myself, but do you have the following checkbox selected in the Custom Field settings?

Wondering if you did, it might allow excel import to add the new labels? Just an idea!

Hi Devree,

Thank you for the suggestion. Indeed when I wrote this post I did not have the box checked for my important. I have tried again a trial example with the box checked before importing. However, this option did not seem to work either. Neither Dog or Rabbit were added as options upon importing.

At the moment, Wrike doesn't officially support the automatic addition of new options to a single-select custom field directly from an Excel import. When you import a new custom field that didn't exist before, it gets created as a text-type field. You'll need to manually change the field type and add the options.
If there are any updates for this in the future, I'll be sure to let you know 👍
