Drag and Drop images from Excel or Word into Wrike

Hi all,

My company currently uses Wrike, but we are looking into moving one of our processes into Wrike. For this process we need to be able to easily copy dozens, maybe hundreds of images that are embedded into Word or Excel documents into Wrike (i.e. into a comment on a task, or onto the task itself).

The issue is that there doesn't seem to be a simple way to do this. The normal Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V method doesn't do anything. In Excel you can click the dropdown arrow next to Copy, select "Copy as Picture", select "Bitmap" as the format, click OK and then paste into Wrike. In Word you don't even have that option. The best I found for Word is to copy it, paste it into some other application (i.e. I've pasted into a chat in Teams) then copy it from there and then paste into Wrike.

This isn't the end of the world if you have one or two images occasionally, but as I mentioned, we will have a large number of images, fairly regularly. I've tried doing this in the web app using Chrome and Edge, and I've also tried in the Windows desktop app, and all behave the same.

Any ideas on how we can get this to work more smoothly?

Hey Eric. Welcome to Wrike!

I checked this and found an easy workaround that I tested out on Windows. Here’s what you can do:

  1. In Word, go to File and save the document as a "Webpage, Filtered." This will create a folder with all the images in it.
  2. In Wrike, use the "Add files" option to navigate to the folder and select multiple or all images to bulk upload.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you face any issues with the steps or if you have any questions.
