Create an automation that files task in a variable file ?

I have created a request form that puts the number of my project in the title and I want to create an automation that makes it so that when a new task is created (from the request form)  and the title contains the project number it will be automatically placed in the right project. How do I do it ?

In the request form editor, if you make it a single select you can have it add the item to different parent folders. If you can't do single select, another option is automations which can be a little more tedious. Even if it is a custom field with numbers you can create automations based on the values to automatically move items to specific folders. It might look like this:

This does not seem to work because the location varies depending on which project the task should be located in . Any advice ?

For the automations, you would have to create one for each project number and you'd need to put it into a field, not the title. The form would be ideal. Not sure how many project numbers you have. For example, we have a request form we are revising for contract request intake that we have set up to add these contract requests to the specific folders and it looks like this:

Right, I have hundreds of projects so this method's impossible for me. Can we use variables in Wrike's automation system? This would make it easier for me.

Given that info, I can't think of an easy solution. I don't know of a way to do this with automations without some type of API or Zapier type thing. Maybe someone else might know. Sorry! Was hoping to get you a quick solution.

Hey Robin De Maria, let me know if you'd like to discuss API options with our Support team. I can't promise there is one, but there may be.
