Default Duration Field - Calendar vs Business Days
We track calendar days for our projects and it appears the Duration field, which can be used to auto-populate task due dates if built into a blueprint, appears to calculate based on business days. Because it is tracking business days, a one month time span can have a dynamic number of weekend days, which it does not track. This means you cannot set a static Duration in a blueprint as the number of days to meet a 30 day Calendar period will always vary.
Is there a way to adjust how the Duration field calculates days from business days to calendar days? Can this be done at the space level or account level? This would allow for us to include a static Duration in our blueprint and automate task due dates for about 2 dozen tasks we apply to each project profile we create (we create hundreds of profiles a year).
Chris Cashon I wonder if you adjust the Default Work Schedule if this will adjust? It looks like it might - our team has every/other Friday off, so I've included this in our Default Schedule and all of our Due Dates calculate around it - knowing that we can't set a Due Date to be on a Friday we have off.
Although looking at the online documentation, you may need to be at a Business or Enterprise Level to make it happen. If you're not, I wonder if your rep could help you adjust? If you do have Business or above - you could then create an additional schedule that does focus on business days and assign this schedule to the team (hopefully that makes sense).
