Adding an "Extension" Status for Tasks

I'd love to see an "Extension" status option that comes standard in all Wrike workspaces.

As a project manager, I often have team members who will extend their deadlines if they are backed up or need more time to complete a task. Because they don't want to see a red, overdue task in their Dashboard, they will move the due date for the task to give them more time to complete it. This causes a number of problems since, oftentimes, it will mess up the timeline on the Gantt chart, or there simply won't be time for them to be granted an extension. But since the owner of the project can't lock task due dates so that other users can't change the due dates, it means the project managers are constantly watching for changed dates - despite the notifications to project changes we receive and reverting those due dates/updating Gantt charts back to their original dates as needed.

I'd like to propose locking task due dates so that only the owner of the project can change the dates, and adding an "Extension" status that team members can choose to activate in order to give themselves more time if needed. I don't think it's possible to stop team members from taking more time or from eliminating this issue all together, but it would allow us to track who took more time on their tasks versus who was able to complete them in the time allotted. And if we were able to pull a report on how often a specific task needed an "Extension" across multiple projects, it would allow us to see if we need to generally allot more time to that task across the board.

Ideally, the original tasks and their due dates would appear the same on the Gantt chart and the tasks that were moved into an irreversible "Extension" status would show a different color section of the "task duration" bar so that we could see the allotted number of days originally given vs the number of extension days that are in process or that are final.

In order to make this work, the Gantt chart would have to be programmed to move all dependent tasks out one day at a time until the "Extension" task was completed - assuming the dependencies were set up correctly and that the projects were automatically updated at the same time everyday (ideally overnight).

Locking the task due dates and putting something in like an "Extension" status might encourage team members to hit their due dates more regularly or work with the project manager to give them more time. Additionally, it will help the project managers keep timelines moving forward, and will ensure that projects are guaranteed to stay the same as the day they were entered into Wrike.
