Preserve original task after converting into projekt
While converting a task into a project is an awesome feature you've recently added I'd love have an option to preserve the original task.
We have a steering committee board where we collect and discuss initiatives that we at some point might turn into projects. It would be very useful to still see the original task and somewho flag it, so the board members can actually see that the initiative had become an actual project.
Right now the workaround would be to restore the orginal task from the recycle bin - I believe it should be fairly easy for you to add an option in the migration dialog that would allow us to preserve the original task. A wonderful option would be that both, the original task and the new project would contain a link in the history, e.g. "created from...." and "converted into project at..." or so.
Thanks for considering!

Or have the original task placed in the newly created project. We have a similar situation where we get requests for projects come in from a form as a request task, and if/when the project starts we are creating a new project and then adding the task to it. If it could happen automatically when converting to a project type that would be great.
I like Russels idea to preserve the original task within the new project. That way we would also preserve the comments.
