Mass updating of custom fields

In our company we have hundreds of options of a single custom field.

Every time we add a new option in the custom field, which could be once a week to every 2 days one is added, it gives us the below error on the request form where we are using the custom field as a single select option.

The error at the bottom of the single select question:

I am using 4 different request forms that references this custom field, that means I need to go into each request form and press the above button to update the options which adds the new selection.

Is there any way to mass update these options as they are taking a considerable amount of time to have to go into manage forms and update the selection before being able to use the request form?

We have about the same use case. 1 custom field has ~200 choices, used in multiple request forms. And same issue, having to go and update the request forms after adding a new option to the custom field.

I think the issue went away with the new request forms, released fall of 2023. I do not have to update them today. (There is a solution, just gotta figure out how to get there).

Is it a space- or account-level form?

I have just tried to remake the request form with the large custom field and it is still giving the same error.

This is an account-level request form and custom field.

Hmm - I tested this with a new custom field and form at the account level. But it still worked. Here's what I made:

Initial publish:

Added a new option and clicked save:

Reopened the form:

@... - I'm stuck on this one. Is there a setting or what else would be needed to get Blaith Cooper's request forms to auto-update when the custom fields update?

Mike Fank I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that this Custom Field has so many options so when it gets a new option added it needs to refresh as my other custom fields don't have this issue, we have a ton of options and its ever growing.

Maybe - but the field I actively use has ~140 options, and the forms update automatically when I add a new option.

I also have an "other" option which triggers a follow-up question.

I don't see how this would be related though.

I'm just looking for anything that's different between our request forms.

In most of the request forms that have this custom field in question they have conditional branching to add a parent folder or whatever it may be.

But in one of the request forms it has no conditional branching which tells me it hasn't got anything to do with that.

I have just counted now... we have 340 different options, I was thinking maybe if there was a way to archive some of the options but still in future being able to pull up the information relating to that option with maybe a search feature? I don't know I'm grasping at straws here...

But a mass update would help a ton.

Hey folks, I'm not sure why the fields don't auto-update for Blaith Cooper, so I asked our Support team to take a look 👍
