Disable/delete default workflow
Hi there,
In our org, we have the Hardware team and the FW/SW team, Product, Marketing, Ops etc, and of course they need different workflows.
The problem I ran into was that even if I configured any of the workflows in the space setting that I wanted to prioritize, I couldn't prevent the team from selecting the initial status from default workflow they creating new tasks.
This led us to realize that different completed/in progress from different workflows appear in the dashboard's pie chart.
Is there any way to delete/disable default workflow other than updating the default workflow to what the team needs in different spaces? The same situation still occurs in the Joint dashboard.
Best,
Victor
Hi Victor Jin, thank you for creating this post. At the moment it's not possible to delete the Default Workflow. Would you please elaborate on how users choose a status from this workflow when, as you mentioned, you have set a different one in your Space?
Would it be possible that some of the projects were created before you applied the custom workflow? If that is the case, it would be necessary to manually change the default workflow in these projects.
Hi @...,
Thank you for sharing your insights.
There is no way for me to change the default workflow to tasks/projects except in space setting and account setting.
Best,
Victor
Hi Victor Jin, thank you for your reply. To clarify: when you right-click on the name of the project (listed on the sidebar), you don't see the option Change default workflow?
If you need further assistance, please let me know and I can open a ticket with our Support Team on your behalf.
Hi @...,
I was able to change projects/folders default workflows per your instructions.
Here are two interesting things I found:
The reason I bought this up is that we currently tracking over 30 projects/folders sub-projects/ sub-folders and it's increasing consistently. Correct me if I am saying something wrong, it seems that one change at a time is the only solution.
Thank you,
Victor
Hi Victor Jin, thank you very much for the follow-up. You're right in your understanding 👍 Also, once the items are created, if you wish to mass-edit them and change their status - instead of opening one by one -, you can achieve this using the Table view. Please, see my screenshot below:
I hope that helps!
Thanks @...!
I successfully completed a mass update of several items according to your instructions. Although their status will be changed to the same status, (even if they are supposed not in the same status) but I could achieve the purpose of batch updating workflow.
Best,
Victor
Great to hear Victor Jin, thanks for letting us know! 🙂
