Critical Path calculation Failure in Gantt charts
I believe I'm seeing a failure in Wrike to show me the critical chain in a Gantt chart when the expected start date for a task in the critical chain coincides with a corporate holiday or day off for the assignee of that task.
Scenario:
Project critical chain involves these tasks:
Task 1 → Task 3 → Task 19 → Task 25 → Task 26 → Task 42 → 🖍Task 45🖍
Each tasks above has a finish to start dependency with the next. For the sake of simplicity I'm excluding all other tasks in the schedule which don't make up the actual critical chain.
Task 45 is owned by "Roger Rabbit", it has a FS relationship to Task 42
Task 42 ends on 6/18/24, Task 45 is showing that it starts on 6/20/24. This is because the working calendar for Roger Rabbit is set up with June 19th as being a corporate holiday.
This then results in >1 day gap between Task 42 and Task 45 so then Wrike only colors Task 45 in RED as the critical path, but fails to identify the other predecessor tasks leading up to Task 45.
The workaround for this is to change the duration of the prior Task 42 - either shorter or longer to ensure that the 'Start Date' of the next task does not coincide with that day off in the Working day schedule based on the resources' profile setup.
I feel that Wrike should be able to detect this and continue to show that the prior tasks are all a part of the critical chain.
