Folllowing List for Post: [Status: Launched ๐] List all file-attachments in a project
[this list is visible for admins and agents only]
Hi Jonas! Attachments are stored in individual tasks and Projects, so it's currently not possible to get a unified overview of all of the attachments under a specific Project. This is something we've been discussing with other users too. I want to link you to that thread, because while there's currently no functionality for file management, the discussion has some great tips which could potentially help: Document Management. I've also added a vote from you to this feature request, thank you for bringing up this topic!
This is the missing piece to the puzzle for us. It's especially difficult to find attachments, especially when they are associated with tasks that are marked as completed.
Greetings Community and Anastasia: ย I have had on my wish list a way to manage all of our files in 'bucket" or folders. ย For example it would be beneficial to have a way to manage ou SOURCE file/docs., our DRAFTS, and our FINAL files for delivery to client or to vendors. ย
In addition it would be great if all files no matter where they are posted in TASK land in the the files bucket.
Any news on any kind of file-list on project level?
Hi Patricia and Jonas, thank you for your comments here! Your suggestions are really helpful, and while I don't have a timeframe to share at the moment, I'm going to go ahead any move this post over to the Product Feedback section (which was released after this request was published).ย This will help our Product Team learn more about the request's popularity, and other users will be able to add their votes too. :)ย
ย
As a Projektmanager it is almost impossible too get a overview ย of where and what our team members upload into their tasks or projects.
This is probably one of Wrike greatest weaknesses. I can't imagine that this should be too difficult to solve. If not for everyone but at least for the admins on the account??
Hi Anthony: I agree with your frustration. Our workaround is to have our team members post all of their files in the main job tab (on the right hand) panel and name the files xxxx-v1 (or r1). It's not an elegant solution, but may save you some headache in short term.
Document Management
Being able to filter and see documents in a table view would be very helpful, and being able to easily list all of the attachments with links would be superb.
ย
Thanks,
Clay
Anastasia,ย
Please add a " +1" for me to being able to having unified overview of all attachments. We'd like to expand Wrike into more dept within our organization and version control is one of our evangelistic battle cries. ย A zipped or unified view would make this seriously user friendly for the PM's and/or the persons having to do proof/review/edit/approval. ย thanks.
Thanks everyone for the additional details here!
@Dru Hi :)ย If you haven't already, could you add a +1 to the original post in this thread? That'll help us track how many people are asking for the feature. I was curious about what type of version control you were looking for?
+1 From my side also. File management is very lacking. I'm new to Wrike, and as a PM this makes me rethink the use of the platform. The ability to find and see files would be great and then to add files to multiple tasks and projects. At this moment I'm planning to make it a policy to rather upload to Google drive and then just add the doc and link to the tasks.ย
ย
As requested ... ย +1 in case the other didn't take. Thanks.
Hi Paul, thanks for adding a comment here. Adding files to Google Drive and then linking to Wrike works well for different teams (barring having Wrike serve as a file management system). Just wanted to let you know that that's a good practice.ย
Would also like to see this feature.
Takes too much Project Admin time to relocate files, or compile duplicates of already attached files so that they exist all in one place. ย WorkFrontย does it... you can too!
I too would really like to see this feature - have used other project management tools in the past and they had the ability to get a list of all attached documents to a particular project which is really useful - Nirvana would be to be able to manage version control through Wrike but I'm not greedy so one step at a timeย
We hope that the Wrike team can provide a target of when this might be on the roadmap/in development. I am putting off using/purchasingย another system, and One Drive suck for team access.ย ย
This functionality could significantly improve managing our projects.ย Any word if this is going to get worked on?
Yeah another BIG +1 from me. To be honest this missing feature seems like quite an oversight? When multiple collaborators are uploading files into various locations, it's impossible to keep tabs on it all & remember where it all went... I don't think the overarching Wrike search feature is strong enough to solve this problem either.
Hi all, thanks for votes and input on this suggestion. There's no solid information to share about this at the moment though please continue to vote and add use cases here for our Product Team to refer to when discussing this internally. Thank you!
Yes. This is a must have.
A list of all the files with the associated added date.
Definitely needed.
Thanks
+1 Please.ย Much needed.ย Stuff gets lost.
This would be really awesome to have the option to maintainย different folders(attachments files inside) for different projectsย and later on attach them to different tasks in different projects.
This has become a major topic for a few of us who are still on trial and adding files to our tasks.ย It is ok if I am still doing to the task, but once it is completed, it gets lost in the "soup" of wrike never to be seen again.
If at the project level it still said files and gave me all the files that have been uploaded to the tasks, it would be very easy.ย I would understand that the task is completed, but at least I can go find the file.ย Or if I am just looking for a file, I would go straight there and not have to worry about which task it is under.
Hi Kevin thank you for your input and votes here.ย
It's something that has also been discussed overย on Ivan's post as Anastasiaย pointed out above, it would be great to get yourย vote there also.
I've spoken with some members who find it helpful to manage their attachments by adding the files to Google Drive and then linking the file to Wrike tasks. I understand it's not exactly what you want to do but it could work for now as you can easily organise and share Folders in Google Drive.ย
Thanks again to everyone for your input & votes!
ย
Yes - I agree with everyone's comments about a unified document structure/folders for each project. Please add my vote in!ย
This feature is necessary.
Projects cannot be managed without it.
P.S. Teenagers would call itย embarrassing
You are currently developing new features that are more fun to have than a must have and that is by far good.
But this thread has been up to date for almost 1.5 years and the only feedback we get is that you would look at it and some workaround to meet the problem.
As I described in my original post in April 2017, this is probably one of Wrike's greatest weaknesses. I can not imagine that this should be too difficult to solve. If not for everyone but at least for the admins on the account ??
Can you take this seriously and give us a proper feedback on what you think about Wrike's file management in the future!
Totally Agreed with Anthony's Comment!
