Custom Field Sections

Looking for the possibility to create our own custom fields sections for grouping purposes. Since all projects and tasks are meant to be a collaborative area, it be helpful for different functional teams to see sectioned off areas that are meant for their contributions. It'll be helpful when the feature where custom fields can be moved around in the project level is released since everything is currently sorted alpha-numerically, but it'd be one step more helpful to be able to section areas off so it' s not one ginormous blob when there are many custom fields being used.

Hello Kerri Loh, welcome to the Community! You can use custom item types to select which custom fields should be included in them - and in which order. Is this what you were looking for?

I don't want to speak for Kerri Loh - but what I think she's asking is a similar request that we have, where in currently a list of custom fields is just one long list; but might benefit from being broken up into 'groups' of thematic fields with a custom head.

For instance, we have a custom item type called 'Story & Editorial' - which is how our organization plans to keep tabs on 'writing' projects across our large distributed team.  Once a team member writes a story, they fill out a bunch of fields we need for reporting (audience, channels, strategy, etc) - but we also have some fields that are JUST for specific teams, like the web team (does it show up on the home page? What date?), a central editorial director (has he seen the story?), and our social media team (what platforms is it going on). For our distributed folks it looks like they should fill out all of these fields, but sections would help designate which teams should fill them out.   Something like...

I would personally just be happy if custom fields from different spaces were sectioned off. We have projects that are tagged into different spaces that have different sets of custom fields. Then, with the larger list of custom fields, mine are mixed with the other Space's. I'd rather have them grouped by space, with a toggle to close other spaces' lists.
