Custom Fields Formatting

I use custom fields in Wrike extensively.  We have certain fields that are the most important to view.  Say out of the 20 Custom fields I have 5 that we track weekly and need to see.   It would be nice to specify that this field was important and have the Field Name show in Bold so it is easier to find.  I require my consultants to update these 5 fields each week and it is cumbersome for them to find the fields sometimes.

Any thoughts on how to do this better?

Hi Vincent! Since Custom Fields can be edited from the Table View, I recommend letting the consultants know the names of the required fields so that they could disable all other columns in the view (by clicking the gear icon and unchecking the ones they don't need to update). Whenever they need to update those five fields, they can just open up the Table View, double click on the cell and enter the required value. Would this help? Would love to hear suggestions from other Wrike users as well!

I understand that - but they often have to see the other fields as well.  So hiding them is not good.

Hi Vincent! We played around with this idea with the team, and I have another suggestion for you :) When you rearrange the columns in Table View, the same order is shown for all users. This means you can arrange the Custom Fields in a way that the five important ones come first, and your consultants will easily know which ones to update. At the same time, no other data is hidden from view.

We update the data in the List view using the Project Information view....what dictates the order of the fields shown there?  Table view is not really helpful or easy to use for data entry.  Can I change the order of the fields on the Project Information view?

Yes, this is possible! The order of Custom Fields in the Project/Task Views is identical to the one in Table View, so rearranging them there adjusts the order in all locations :)

Hmm...when I do that - there are some system fields that show first regardless of the order I put them in - like Status, Start Date, Finish Date.

You're right Vincent - the first four fields are the default Project attributes, which are always displayed first because they are the key Project data points. I'm sorry I didn't mention that. You can rearrange the order of the Custom Fields which include the additional data points for your Project. However, if you don't use the default fields, you can convert the Project into a Folder. Folders don't have the default attributes, and only Custom Fields which you enable are shown there.

Unfortunately we use projects cause we need to!  All we want is to bold the fields we want bolded

Vincent, I can definitely see how this  would be useful, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this! I wanted to let you know that I've just passed the idea about being able to rearrange all Project fields to our Product Team.

Thanks Vincent for your post.  Yes, the ability to re-arrange custom fields so that is affects the list view would be a wonderful feature. Currently the CF just appear to be all jumbled and it is not effective.  It would be nice to be able to create groupings with spaces, or bars, or the like.

@Meshelle Sam just recently made a request for similar functionality if you want to add a +1 there.
