CIT Conversion from Space to Account?
Is it possible, or can it be possible, to convert a Space-level Custom Item Type (CIT) to an Account-level CIT?

Hi Brian Gotti, is not possible at the moment, you need to re-create CIT at account level =(
Pietro Poli I figured. I'm curious if this can be introduced as a feature enhancement by Wrike though. That have enabled the ability to convert other elements and such to and from Space to Account and vice versa.
Brian Gotti Thanks, as your question is posted in the Product Feedback forum, it's already been passed to our team 👍

Lisa There are other similar requests that have different number of upvotes. (One example)
Does the team take this into account when counting upvotes on an item to decide which to prioritize?
+1 for this idea!!
I just set up custom item types in a space last week and didn't realize until today it would have been more efficient if I made them account-wide so I have access to them in other spaces (for project management/collaboration purposes). Now I'm afraid to re-create them as account custom item types because what will happen to the custom items in the space if I delete them? Do they turn back into default tasks...? 😬
Coming back here to add that I think what's most frustrating is that I don't have the option to create a space-only custom item type task when a task is cross-tagged to another space. This would be the ideal scenario because if I create account-wide custom item types then they'll show up as options in all spaces which adds clutter for teams who don't need to see those options.
Use case: We're running a project that impacts the entire company. I built a space just for this effort. I have custom item types that live in our IT space. If I'm working in the project space, cross-tag a task to the IT Space, I would expect to then have the option of creating a sub-task using an IT space custom item type since it's cross-tagged.
Work around: I have to create the custom item type (user story) directly in the IT space, then go to the project space, open the task, click the "+ Item" button and search for the story I just created to link it.
Several extra steps that are frustrating from a project management perspective. 🫤
Hi Daisy Hibbard 👋
If you delete a custom item type (CIT) from a space, the existing items created from that CIT will not automatically revert to default tasks. Instead, they will remain as they are, but you will no longer be able to create new items of that type, and thanks for sharing your use case in detail. I understand it can be frustrating. I will ensure your comment is forwarded to the Product Team for their visibility. If there are any developments on this aspect, I’ll make sure to provide you with an update 👍

We're able to do so with custom fields for example, where we can set them from space->account owned or account->space owned. CITs should follow the same capabilities!
