New Dashboards

So we've enabled new dashboards, and I'm sorry but I'm disappointed in lack of filtering.

For some unknown reason you seem to focus on Authors, whether it be a task or project author.  This doesn't work.

I'm trying to create dashboards for each member in a PMO team, so they can see overdue tasks in their projects.  However, not all will be a Project author or task author as they may have taken the project on from someone else.

I really suggest you move away from focusing on Authors as a filter, and look at Owner it will help a lot more.

Hey Scott, can you please help me understand what is not working for you? Every task/project has a creator/author, a person who created it in the first place, and you can use the Author filter to find out tasks/projects created by a specific person. We don't have a concept of owners for tasks/projects per se, but we have assignees for them, and you can use the Assignee filter to find out tasks/projects assigned to specific users. What am I missing?

So as a Project Manager I want to see a list of all overdue tasks for assignees on my projects.  I can create a widget that shows overdue tasks that I created, or just all overdue tasks.  However, I will not always be the author of those tasks as I may have taken over a project.

I cannot filter on Project assignee, when creating such a widget.  It only allows task assignee.

So because I'm reporting on tasks, it automatically assumes all filters should be task level.

This doesn't work for a Project manager in any organisation.

Thank you for the clarification, Scott! In other words, you want to see overdue tasks in projects that are assigned to you? Unfortunately, it's not possible in new dashboards yet, but it's a good point and an area for improvement definitely.
