Drag a pdf with the same name of another pdf of the task... would in my dream be add like a new version

Hello,

When you drag a pdf of a new version into a task carrying the old version pdf, the two do not overlap even if they have the same name... the problem is that we would like to send 50 updated pdfs in the task, so we cannot go through "add a new version" each time by clicking on each old pdf...

(We could also delete the precedent pdf and add the new one... but the link of the pdf is used a lot at different place of wrike.)

(We can't use "Document Editor" because pdf is drawings made by specifics software...)

Do you think you will be able to configure this? Nothing is too complicated for the Wrike team ;-)

Lisa Seconding Pierre-Antoine's request, this would help my team a lot.

Sometimes less-tech-savvy stakeholders will drag and drop files into the task, and we end up with 3-5 different files in the task's file list with the exact same name, but are actually versions of the same document. I've attached a screenshot that I took of a task I was just working on today...

To expand further on this hypothetical feature:

  1. If when uploading files of the same format with the same or similar file names (e.g. first 20 characters are the same), we were prompted about whether we want to add those uploads as new versions of the existing files, that would save SO much time when we use Wrike, but also when onboarding stakeholders who are less familiar with the program and inevitably forget or are too busy to right click -> Upload new version.
  2. The option to add a new version of a specific file by dragging and dropping onto that file would be a nice time-saver too, especially where the new file name does change significantly (I probably run into this scenario at least once a day because of how my team uses file names in certain stages of our workflow).
  3. If we could drag file A (a file already uploaded to a task) onto file B to make file A a new version of file B, this might be a quick and easy retroactive fix for cases where a task already contains 'duplicates', instead of us having to manually download file A and reupload it as a new version of file B.
