Enable Projects to sort by priority in Gantt Charts

Gantt chart view works similar to the old Table view. The Gantt chart view remains unchanged with the introduction to Wrike Lightspeed, meaning project sorting by priority is still not available.  Projects and folders are sorted alphanumerically when sorting by priority and the priority sorting applies only to tasks.

It just makes sense that this new functionality should be brought to lightspeed so that Gantt charts and Table views behave the same way.  Can you do this?

Hello everyone,

I don't quite understand sorting by "priority". I always thought it would sort the tasks according to importance (low, normal, high). But this is not the case. Can someone explain to me the logic by which Wrike sorts these tasks. As an example, please watch the screenshot.

Hello Marco Nipkow, thank you for your question. When you sort by priority, the newest task created is added at the bottom of your view. The reasoning behind this view's naming is that you can manually rearrange your tasks (via drag and drop), with tasks located at the top having the highest priority and those located at the bottom, the lowest.

Please, let us know if you have any more questions 👍

This means that the term is not entirely accurate. A more correct term would be "sort by creation time".
The manual sorting was understandable and should also be regarded as a special point due to the dash. The upper points sort automatically.
Did I understand that correctly, @... ?

Hi Marco Nipkow, thank you for your feedback, I've shared it with our Product Team 👍

Yes, you are correct, parent items - projects and folders - are reordered automatically. Please, let us know if you have any additional questions.

I agree with Caleb Scharf.

I want to use Priority sorting in my projects, but I can't if I want to get any value out of the Gantt chart because my folders don't honor the priority that I assigned to them in the Table view - it makes the Gantt chart view very confusing. The only way to make the Gantt chart usable is to prefix projects/folders 01., 02., 03., etc in order to force the sort order and that's isn't realistic if I have to manually change those numbers any time a folder is added/deleted/moved.
