New Dashboards
After a cursory search of the product feedback boards and not finding a discussion on this, wanted to bring up the new dashboards. Completely befuddled by the updates made to filtering capabilities in the widgets.
First and foremost, you can no longer select start date as a filter. Every project or client-related dashboard we build has a widget for tasks starting within the next seven days, so that we can make sure all are prepared before we set them active.

Is it unreasonable to think that users would want to filter tasks based on one the key datapoints associated with a task/item within Wrike? Is this something that they plan on updating in the near future?
Second, removing 'planned' from the type filter. Being able to eliminate backlogged tasks (which serve their own purpose outside of planned work) helps keep certain widgets cleaner and is extremely useful for our agency.
I'd encourage other users to share their observations on the new dashboards here as well. I know this can't be everything, just the most glaring for our use case at the moment.
@... Thanks for the follow up about the pop up. I will share that with the team. The box I am talking about is this one. It looks like there is code that is setting color to the border lines of the field.
Hey Michael! We've looked into the problem reported by you and couldn't reproduce it on our end therefore we'll need an access code to your account. I have requested it, so please provide it when you can, we'll take a look and fix the problem.
Going back to your question about the quality of the Labs releases. We are doing our best to release quality updates following the same processes we use for regular releases. We rely a lot on automated regression testing and have test cases for major use cases. However, as you can imagine, the coverage for new and rapidly developing functionality may not be as comprehensive as for the mature features. Therefore issues like this one can slip into releases. That's why we made it explicit on the Wrike Labs page:
Beware that features are experimental and are subject to change, may break, or be discontinued at any time.
I cannot comment on the general availability of new dashboards yet, but we are working hard to make it happen as soon as possible. Thank you for using new dashboards while they are in the Labs and providing all the feedback! It helps us a lot to make our product better.
@... Thank you. I added the code to the ticket. I appreciate the candid response on Wrike's process for testing. We will continue to remind our internal users that this is in Labs and the team has "early access". Hopefully the Wrike development team can continue to toss around ideas as to how best to notify us of the changes as they happen. Again, this will only make our partnership with you that much stronger.
If you need a customer partner to test features as they are released - beyond what the Community is doing for you through these interactive forums, know our team is happy to assist where possible.
Michael, the issue reported by you should be fixed now. Thank you again, it was a tricky one. And we'll definitely reach out to you if we need to validate features early with customers. I really appreciate that offer.
Hi all, relatively minor suggestion here, but would be great if we could opt to wrap text in Dashboards - given that these are meant to be snapshots, it can be frustrating for folks to have to click-in to see full detail for longer fields/plain-text fields.
We appreciate your feedback Whitney Norton, I've sent it to the team now 👍

Whitney, is it about titles or text custom fields for you?

one question about new dashboards: what happens if I am in Lightspeed and using new dashboards and I share this dashboard to somebody not in Lightspeed?
Sven, new dashboards are independent of Lightspeed, so it won't be an issue
I just switched over to a new dashboard primarily in order to display custom fields, and I have couple initial questions/feedback items:
Holly, thank you for your feedback and questions! Please find the responses below
1 - Yes, that's right. We plan to make list cards more customizable in the future so you can have custom fields on them.
2 - This is a bug to be fixed.
3 - Can you please provide steps to reproduce? I'm asking because everything should open in the same tab by default.
@... Good to hear on 1 & 2; I'm looking forward to those changes. For 3, sorry, I was unclear. It is still in the same tab but is no longer a pop-up; once I navigate to a different task from the pop-up, that new task becomes full screen (as if it had opened in a new tab, but it's still the same tab). So instead of just clicking the x on the pop-up to close it and be back in my dashboard, I have to go back in my browser (multiple times if I've navigated to multiple subtasks) to get back to my dashboard. In the regular dashboard, it is still in the pop-up if I navigate to a parent task or subtasks.
Thank you for the clarification, Holly! It's super clear now. Can I please also ask you to provide the same for p. 2?
@... Sorry, can you clarify what you're asking for?
Holly, can you please describe the steps that led to the tasks being sorted by the due date in reverse order?
@... For any widget, if I sort by due date and set "Break by" to None, then the tasks in the widget correctly sort from earliest to latest due date (e.g., anything due today at the top, something due next moth at bottom). However, if I go in and edit "Break by" to be Due Date (under Other), it adds the collapsible groupings ("Today", "Tomorrow", "Next Week" etc.), but they are ordered in the reverse. So "Next week" would be at the top of my widget, and "Today" at the bottom, which is the reverse of what I'd want.
Holly, thank you for the clarification! Unfortunately, it's not something we can reproduce on our end, so I created a support ticket for this case. Our support specialist will be in touch soon to collect the details to investigate and resolve this problem.
@... Interesting. I did some more testing, and it appears to be specific to Firefox. In Chrome, the sort when Break by is by Due Date is correct. But in Firefix, it's the reverse (this seems like a very strange thing to be different by browser).
Thanks Holly, you nailed it! We'll get it fixed asap.
@... you posted the comment linked below in this thread regarding first selecting all tasks under "visualization" and then selecting "item types" under the filters. However, I don't see the option for item types in filters like you are showing in your screenshot. Could you advise on why I'm not seeing it? I am selecting task under visualizations and trying then trying to filter by multiple item types.

Hey Shermaine, I guess you're building your widget on the entire account data source, right? If that's the case, it's a known issue that will be fixed soon.
@... Thanks for the following up. Is there an existing thread I can follow so I know when this has been fixed?
Shermaine, there is no public thread, but I'll let you know once it's fixed.
Shermaine, it's now possible to filter by item type when the entire account is selected as a data source
Hi! I would like to follow up on the previous discussions about the "Tasks To Do" filter option missing from the new dashboards. This "Tasks To Do" filter was something our Wrike Onboarding Consultant emphasized we use to take into consideration both the start and due date of tasks and show all tasks that need to be worked on during our specified time range. We have tasks that last days/weeks that should be worked on throughout the duration. If filtering for start-date, tasks disappear from dashboards after the specific start date or do not show until the due date which doesn't help staff see what they should be working on. Your support team did recommend utilizing the standard widgets of 'My Tasks" or "My Tasks This Week" which does work however we have many staff that do not want to view all their tasks, or all tasks in a week in their dashboards and want to only see their tasks for today or a custom time frame. It would be great to know if Wrike plans on adding this filter in future as it does allow more flexibility in creating dashboards.
Hey Craig, we are bringing this filter back in new dashboards very soon.
Thanks for the update @...! Will keep an eye out for it.
