[Chart view] Possibility, for the graph legend, to display not only the values of a custom field that has been used as a parameter but also the name of the custom field itself

Is it possible for the graph legend to display not only the values of a custom field that has been used as a parameter but also the name of the custom field itself?

If the graph is displayed to someone other than the person who created it, viewing only the values of the custom field can be limiting because, without being able to read the name of the custom field to which the values refer, they cannot grasp the meaning of the data.

Hey Giovanni De Giovanni!  I'm sorry, but it's impossible, and we recommend using a chart title to convey this information. Does it make sense?

Hi Vladimir,
Thank you for your reply and for constantly reading our inputs!

Yes, I do agree with you that we could give a title to our chart in order to explain the content of the chart itself, but it would steal a lot of space - if you check in the second screenshot I have attached, after reading your suggestion, I tried to explain the meaning of the custom field directly in the chart title, but I do not think it is the optimal solution, especially when the custom field involved is not the main metric in the chart but a secondary data breakdown, as in this case.

This is an example I can share with you. We have a Wrike folder in which we channel all reports that Project Managers make regarding incidents that may arise during project execution, caused by colleagues' oversights working on the project, and that could harm the company's relationship with the end customer. In the chart below, I grouped the reports based on the reported colleague and broke down the data based on another custom field, which essentially answers the question: "Did this incident cause financial damage to the company?" (Possible answers: YES / NO)

When I shared the chart with our Production Director, the first thing he asked me was, "What does the label "NO / YES" mean that I see below the chart?" In fact, if I had the possibility to also display the name of the custom field, understanding the data would have been much simpler.

As I mentioned earlier, right after reading your comment, I tried to explain the meaning of the custom field directly in the chart title. However, as you can see, it resulted in a very long title that certainly takes up valuable space in the overall view.

Giovanni, thank you for your very elaborate response! Did you try new dashboards that were released to Labs recently? I feel like they could be a better fit for your specific use case. In dashboards, you can build the same chart but customize the widget title so it would be more readable overall.

We also consider making it possible to rename charts in the Chart View so that instead of "Task: All" you can put your custom title.
