Drill-Through in Wrike Analyze

Our team finds Wrike Analyze to be a powerful tool for viewing customised metrics in Wrike. It has helped us to recognise trends and patterns in our activity we would not have otherwise identified, which helps us to direct our effort in efficient ways.

The next step we feel is missing to take our Wrike Analytics to the next level is the ability to drill-through values on a widget.

  • The current information available when hovering over a value on a widget is simply a list of the inputs to that value with no ability to delve into the data.
  • This offers no new information or additional detail than what is available on the widget already.

Our team would see significant uptake of analytics in Wrike if values on a widget gave you the ability to drill-through to a list of the tasks/projects/folders that have input to that value.

This feature would expand our use of analytics boards to:

  • Present data to management
  • Inform discussions with internal and/or external stakeholders
  • Creating actionable lists based on highly filtered and customised data

Any feedback from other users or the Wrike Community Team on this proposal would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Wrike team, I have also had similar thoughts to Jess here as to the potential increase in effectiveness of this Wrike Analyze tool.

Often times within my team, we have data good to enough to inform us but not always with the ability to make actionable decisions.

Would love to see this tool being further enhanced hopefully in the near future. Thank you!

Agree - when we notice an anomaly or value that doesn't align it gets hard to troubleshoot the cause. A drill through would make the process a lot smoother and eliminate the need to go and manually find the tasks contributing to the data.

Hey everyone! I encourage you to take a look at Chart View and New Dashboards in the Labs. They both provide drill-down functionality in the way you expect it to work in Analyze. Please let us know what you think.

P.S. Keep in mind that this functionality is in development, and it may not have all the things you have in Analyze, like aggregation of data on a weekly basis, but we are working on it.

Hi Vladimir Bugay, the drill-through functionality in the new Chart View is exactly what we are looking for! I am in the process of replicating charts we are currently using in analytics in the Chart View of a space, but I'd say a few initial limitations I've noticed in the Chart View compared to Analytics are:

  • We report on data from multiple spaces which is not possiible in Chart View
  • We compare datasets in side-by-side visuals, but there is only "+ Tab" functionality available in Chart View
  • We use complex filters and amend formulas to manipulate data in Analytics - see below examples

I'll keep working through this and let you know if I have any additional feedback.

Hey Jess! Thank you for trying out the Chart View and I'm glad to hear that the drill-down there works as expected. Please try out new recently released dashboards in the Labs too. They already provide reporting across multiple sources (including spaces), and we will add multiple metrics soon. When it comes to formulas, it looks like you use them to convert minutes to something like working weeks, and we are going to have a simpler way to achieve that, too.
