Request Forms: Sync a checkbox question to a multiselect custom field?

Can't seem to find any documentation on this....

I've got a field in a request form that is a checkbox with three possible answers:

I have a custom field that is a multiselect, representing the three options. However, when I click "Description", that custom field is not listed (in fact none are - My choices are Description or Title).

Ah-ha, thought I, this is a multiselect and not a checkbox. So I created a Checkbox custom field as a test, and it does not show up either.

So, hopefully basic question: How does one create a Checkboxes question whose results are stored in a custom field???

For reasons I'm not yet sure of, when I got in to work this morning, I was able to select the multiselect option for the question. Perhaps there's a time delay between making a multiselect custom field and being able to use it in a request form? Who knows... It is working now.
