Information Flow on rescheduling Task

Hi @ all, is there any workaround from your site how you handle the information flow on reschelduling tasks?

Exp.: Projects with several task which are linked (mostly linear) to each other. You have to reschedule one task due to delay and therefore all successor tasks will be rescheduled automatically. This works perfect...

Problem: All responsible task owner has to be informed about this new date or delay for example. But Automatic rescheduling events of the successor Tasks in the dependency chain are not tracked. Hence, those events are not reflected in the Activity Stream and do not trigger email notifications.

This is a huge Problem, because nobody will be informed, that the project end will be delayed.

I submitted the same feedback to the support team last week (ticket #996408) but in our use case we intentionally shift all dependent dates, in Gantt Chart view, by holding down Shift on the keyboard while dragging one of the tasks to a new date.  It automatically adjusts all tasks that have dependencies connecting them.  i.e. our Email Deployment Date needs to delay a month, so we Shift + Drag the Email Deployment Task to the new date and all dependencies (like copy, creative, coding, testing, etc) automatically adjust.  It's fantastic .... except it doesn't leave any trace of the change in the tasks.  No update to when the change was made, from old date to new date, and who made the change in the "stream".  Need this for tracking and communication.

Thank you for bringing up this topic here Maurice Schwarz, Meredith Selden! 🤗 As my colleague from the Support team mentioned on the ticket, this feedback is now passed on to the Product team 👍
