[How To] Create a Gauge Indicator for Projects On-Time/LateFeatured
Our team has a widget set up in Analyze that gives us a quick visual indication on how on-track we are for our Active projects. If this is something that looks interesting for your team, give it a try.
Example of our Gauge Widget:
1) Under "Values" we have the following formula:
(This displays the numerical value of on-track projects on the gauge. This is represented by the number 6 in the photo of the widget above.)
[In this case we use the custom fields "Proposed Completion Date" and "Actual Completion Date". Feel free to use the stock Wrike fields such as "Due Date" and "Completion Date" if that is what your team uses.]
2) Under "Max" we have the following formula:
(This is your gauge maximum showing the total number of projects from the data you are pulling from. This is represented by the number 14 in the photo of the widget above.)
3) Under "Secondary" we have the following formula:
(This displays the "On-Track %" you see at the bottom of the widget rounded to the nearest whole number. This is represented by the number 43% in the photo of the widget above.)
Lastly, to create the Color-Coding:
(This adjusts to the total number of projects you have in the data set you are pulling from. In this case you have green for 80% of projects on time, yellow for 60% of projects on time, and red for anything below 60%.)
Last note, we have everything set up as "Projects" for our particular use-case, but you can accomplish the same thing if you use "Task" level fields as well.
(Additionally, depending on how you have structured your Tasks/Projects, some additional filtering may be needed at the Board or Widget level to pull in the appropriate data)
This was initially tricky to set up so hopefully it is helpful to some of you out there.
