Projects by assignee
Is there a way to create a report or a dashboard that shows me all projects that are assigned to a specific assignee? (preferred: not having to create a custom field and go back to all the projects and manually do this)
For example: I have designer "A" and on their dashboard I have all their tasks, approvals, but it would also be able to great to have another column where it shows all the projects there assigned. So if they have let's say 100 tasks, but have 5 projects. I'd like to be able to see that.
Or maybe their is another method that isn't a dashboard or report?
Appreciate the help, thank you.
Hi Aimee.
This is fairly easy to do.
Go on your dashboard page and click on the button on top right that says NEW WIDGET.
Then select the one for Projects. From there, filter the info as you wish.
Start with a space or folder that contains that person's projects and in the filters, filter by assignee.
It should work

Eric That doesn't work - These assignee's are in every space, assigned to multiple projects. There is no filter to filter by assignee only by owner, they are not project owners but assignees to the tasks within the project. So they have the project shared with them but their not owners.
Appreciate the help.
OK, I understand better now.
You have to make them owner of the projects she is working on. This is what I do with my team here. Projects don't have assignees, they are called Owners.
If you don't want to use the Owners field, you have to create a Custom Field for that Specific purpose. I personally use the Owners, it is more easy and already set up for you.
I hope I could help you out.
Eric Thank you for trying to help. I did notice I could do that with Owners however unfortunately the way that we use Wrike does not lend it self well to having all of our assignee's as "owners" on the project. It creates a huge mess and confuses the team.
I was afraid someone might say "custom field", ha! I figured I could do it this way but that's more manual work on my end each time a new project comes in, and I have to backtrack to all of our projects that are already in the system - however I thought this might be my only option for now. I was hoping there might be something else, but if we want this - that sounds like the best route to go.
Greatly appreciate your help, thank you.
Aimee Reistad I came here to basically ask the same question. We have writers that don't want to see things on the task level; they want to see the Project level. They are not assigned as owners of the project (we leave that for our project requestors). I agree that if we change it, it may create confusion and add more steps for the team. We already have a ton of custom fields and I'd prefer to not have one more thing to add to the list of things to do.
Owners are called Assignees on the project fields. However, when I do the workload report, I only have Owner as the group-by option which does NOT show all of the assignees. Why are they called different things and how can I specifically see projects by Assignee?
Hi Lori Buresh, welcome to the Community! You can apply the additional filters Project: Owner and specify the items that should be displayed:
In case you wish to see tasks assigned to certain users, you can also user filters:
