Will updates to an original project show in a duplicated project?
Hi all,
I've duplicated a project that I created in our team folder and put the duplicate in my personal folder, so that I have a 'copy' if I ever decide to delete the original. My question is if I make changes to the original project will they automatically show up under the duplicated project? I tried to do this and didn't see that is works, but maybe there's a trick I'm missing.....
Thank you!
Hi Kendra Hein, when you duplicate a project you obtain 2 different projects.
You cannot update one and get the same update on other project with Wrike.
Why do you need to have two projects?
Hi Kenda,
you mentioned that you want to make a safety copy. I'd say this is not really necessary, as wrike has an excellent backup and restoring functionalliy. You can access every change made to your projects and tasks by user and date, and if anyone made some mistakes, it's quite easy to restore a previous version.

Thank you both for your feedback.
I had the opposite issue. I created a duplicate of project to use as a template for future projects. When I started updating some of the custom fields, it's making those changes in both my new project and the the original. This is certainly not what I want to do, and would expect the duplicate to be it's own separate project. Is this a bug, or is there something that's connecting them I don't know about?
Hi Matt Benepe, welcome to Wrike Community 👋
I don't think this is the intended behaviour, so I asked our Support team to look into this for you - someone will contact you separately.
Please let me know if you need help with anything else!
