Keep the same day of week for a task in a template

In my organization, we heavily rely on templates, as we have a lot of short term projects. One of the tasks in the template is always the Tuesday after the previous task completes. Is there a way that I can mark this task as a specific day of the week, in order to not have to change it every time I copy over the template?

I would also like this feature. I have a very similar issue where certain tasks in our workflow always occur on the 1st or 3rd Tuesday of the month. Related tasks are always due 2 Fridays before that Tuesday. If some part of the project overruns a deadline, I would like the dependency to force those critical dates forward to the next appropriate day of the week. I could see this feature integrated with the recently restored Date Constraints or the new Lead/Lag feature in Gantt view.

Was this ever implemented or is there a solution someone can point me to?

I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hi Shane King, thanks for reaching out! This is not a part of Wrike's functionality yet; the suggestion is passed on to the team though. It would be great if you could +1 the suggestion if you haven't already - that helps the team assess the suggestion's popularity among the Community. Here's the post where we explain how this forum works in more detail 👍

Hello,

I found a rough workaround for this (it's not great but it works)

  • Created an Alias email to add in a new user
  • Created a new work schedule with only Tuesdays as the workday
  • Assigned that work schedule to the alias user
  • Assigned the user to all task that require work to land only on Tuesdays

So if the previous task (dependency) lands on a Wednesday the proceeding task will move to the following Tuesday.

One draw back is if you need to assign someone to this task it will overwrite the work schedule

Hope this helps out!
