It would be great if I could create a new task from a comment.
When commenting back and forth on a task, it frequently happens where someone says, can you do X. It would be good to just right-click on that comment and "Create a Task" from it. It would then prepopulate the task with that comment and ask you to create a title for it, tag it into a folder, and assign it.
Agreed. Or "create a subtask"
Hey Jason! I hope Boston is amazing :)
Thanks for the feedback here guys, the code in the comment stream needs an update so this isn't currently on the short terms roadmap, but as they discuss making updates we'll share this with the team.
Also to add to this functionality please consider
Frequently in comments descriptions or emails sent into Wrike there are bits of text which need to be broken down and assigned.
Currently I copy paste and create tasks in another window and also create sub tasks.
What I would like to be able to do is highlight any text or multiple lines of text and right click to create a subtask which contains the highlighted text and then assign and set due date, then also insert "where I originally highlighted the text" a hyperlink (with status) to the new subtask
This further increase my productivity and leaves a trail that is easy to follow.
Thanks
Paul
I think this would be a great function to have and gain efficiency. Often you have information shared in the comment section of a task and it would be a great to create a task/sub-task as stated above.
Most of the time we have multiple tasks detailed within the same description. It would be very useful to be able to highlight each "task" in the description and then create a new task(or sub-task) from it, replacing the highlighted text with a hyperlink to the new task. I'd like to see comments have the same functionality.
I want to resurface this with an extra special note that creating tasks from comments on videos or other uploaded assets would be a huge timesaver -- frequently we seek feedback or approvals from people who generally outside of wrike and being able to turn their comments into tasks directly would be a huge time saver.
I second that - this would definitely be a useful feature.
Hey everyone, thank you for all of your feedback here! It's been passed on to the Product team.
The team are interested in a suggestion like this, but there are currently no plans to add it to the product roadmap. As soon as I have another update for you, I'll let you know.
I'm not sure if this was covered elsewhere, and it's definitely not ideal, BUT I may have found a workaround.
In the table view, create new tasks and type one character each time and press return. This can be done very fast, for the number of tasks/lines you need. Then select the top task, and paste your data.
Thanks so much for sharing, Erin Lakai 🙂

Hi Jason! You can do it AI Subitem Creation. Highlight the part of the comment you want to use and then in the left panel use "Create subitems" button.
^ Life saver, game changer! Thank you for this! :-)
So happy to hear you like this feature Tatiana Kouvatsos 🤗
