Minimize rather than close window of Wrike Desktop

At work I can have many open windows. Sometimes I close window of Wrike for Windows mistakenly. It takes some time for it to be started again.

Can you add an option so that when I click on X, Wrike window can be minimized rather than closed?

Hi Robert, and welcome to the Community 🙂  Currently the option to minimize and close the Desktop app is set by the operating system of your device.

Perhaps a suggestion we can log with our Product Team is to have a confirmation step when you close the app, asking; 'Are you sure you want to exit Wrike?'.

Let me know if you think this will help and we can add it to our Product Team's report for their future review.

Thanks for posting 👍

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the reply.

I understand standard behaviours of - and X buttons are defined by OS. However, I noticed Skype and Slack desktop versions overwrite behaviour of X button by minimizing themselves instead.

Adding a confirmation could be useful. However, I still think it is better to give user an option to define behaviour of X button. After all, most users only need to open & close Wrike once per day.

Best Regards,

Robert

I meant most users always keep Wrike open during their work.

Yes, in the Mac application, I was trying it out as I often have 8-10-20 Wrike tabs open at a time, typically in Chrome but my muscle memory for closing single tabs with Command-W inadvertently shut down all 8 tabs I had running all at once, with not only no opportunity to re-open them,  but to open ANY window again w/o quitting and restarting the program.

Photoshop allows the re-mapping of all kinds of system-level keystrokes while in the app.  While I like the idea of this app to separate from my other browsing needs, without being able to re-map Command-W (close window) to close Tab, I simply won't be able to use it.

In the cases of Chrome, Safari and Firefox, they all support Command-W as close Tab and Command-Shift-W as closing the entire window regardless of how many tabs open

Stephen, what do you mean? Either we are already able to minimize and don't know how or you do not understand the question.

If it is possible to minimize Wrike to the system tray (like Slack), then please tell us how. Until then, I consider this a major deficiency of the software. Perhaps you are talking about MacOS, not Windows.

Hi all, I know this is pretty old, but in case it hasn't been fixed yet, @Stephen, Something similar to the following is what they're looking for. And I concur with their wants as well.

Write a event in Form Closing event.

 private void Form1_FormClosing(object sender, FormClosingEventArgs e)
 {
        e.Cancel = true;
        Hide();
 }

And write using Custom menu strip for notification icon for to show.
