Hi Sven! The backup file is exported in JSON format, and this means that it needs to be parsed before seeing the information in the form you're looking for. A common way to go is to convert it into a CSV file. Simpler options include using one of the available online JSON to CSV converters. A quick web search will pull several options to choose from :) Happy to answer any further questions!

Hi Anastasia,

These tables for the comments and tasks do not really provide a useful backup of the data.  I have used several different visualization services for these json files and what we end up with is a useless table for tasks.json which is kind of disheartening.

Could the awesome dev team at Wrike consider putting together a tool that converts our .json backups into html that we can open in a browser to view our archives?  They could even use existing task display format to generate the html display in the browser from local files.

Cheers,

Andy

Hi Andy, thanks for your post here. I noticed you also posted a standalone post in the Feedback section which is great. Changing the file types is not something on our Product Team's roadmap but your post can now facilitate votes and discussions with members which our Product team can review when thinking about enhancements to the Account Backup.

Thanks for posting! 🙌

Hello Steve,

We also need a viewer for the JSON files. Since you're not looking for developing it. If we do it, we will be able to post the application in the Developers section and get paid for each download?

Thanks

We too would be interested in a tool to allow us to query our legacy Wrike data from a local backup. Thanks in advance to anyone that has devised such a tool!

Best Regards,

Tim

@Timothy Hey, thanks for posting here 🙂
I noticed that you added your comment to a Product Feeback section thread related to this subject, that's great 👍 Let's see if other users can recommend a tool as our Product team doesn't plan to change the file type for now.
