[Status: Not planned] Disable Wrike bot?

Can the Wrike bot be disabled? It isn't really of use with my team and our use of Wrike, and seems to be creating additional notifications that are necessary. Often, a preceding step being completed doesn't necessarily mean it's ready for the next person. We rely on the person completing the previous step to @mention the person in the next step when it should proceed. The Wrike bot notifications stating that all of the previous steps are completed and it's ready for the next aren't really fitting for the way we use Wrike.

I've been using Wrike for 6 years, and my team just started using the Approvers feature with automation to change tasks to Approved status once approved.

The Wrike Bot and Automation Bot spam our Comments area, so we all have to do a lot of scrolling and have eagle eyes to suss out what text is noise and what is vital information.

The above mess was from approving one, single file. We often we have multiple files... My teammates are struggling with this new, "improved" process. Why does this information have to be dumped into the Comments area, why can't it all go somewhere else? Why does my team get spammed with bot emails? Why does it repeat itself? Why have users been complaining about this since 2017 and it's now 2023?

Hi Amber Hamilton Weber, thank you for sharing your case with us. For one single approval, the long thread of notifications you describe doesn't seem to be expected behavior. I have opened a ticket with our Support Team on your behalf so our agents can contact you and assist you with this.

In the meantime, you choose to only see comments in your stream to avoid displaying unnecessary updates:

Please, let us know if we can help with any other questions 👍

I agree with Amber above, this thread has been going since 2017 and we are in deployment phase at our company and we are have set up a workflow where you add an approver/file on status change, but you get a wrikebot inbox in your Wrike inbox. This is not necessary as you are in task and will not be great UI. THERE HAS TO BE AN OPTION TO TURN OFF NOTIFICATION WHEN SETTING UP APPROVAL IN WORKFLOW!!

PS: We also have 60 collaborators that submit a form and opens a project from blueprint, but if we as prodcers delete any tasks from that blueprint our stakeholders get an individual notification in Wrike inbox for every task deleted (this can be 20 notifications!!) This is also bonkers that these types of notifications aren't turned off? Is there a way in Access Roles to improve this?

I would like to repost this earlier description by Sam. If that small exception case could be added it would be very helpful

I'd like to chime in here.  In general, I find wrike bot confusing and/or annoying.   It's not clear when/why they go out.

But here's something more specific... Back in the day.... Wrike would not bother you with a notification if it was an action that came from you.  For example, if you assign yourself a task, you wont get a notification (because YOU did it, so why would you need one!)

However, I'm using the automatic assigning feature with my workflows.  For example, I do the following:

a) go into a task.

b) change the status.

c) Due to that status, it automatically assigns it to me.

d) I get an unnecessary email notification.

In this case, although "wrike" is assigning the task to me, it was "me" who changed the status in the first place.

Hi Yaniv Eyny, thanks for sharing and noted - we've passed this on to the team. Unfortunately, as Juan mentioned previously there are no plans for this at the currently, but we have passed on your feedback. If there'a anything else we can help with, please don't hesitate to ask 👍

We have been putting some automation rules in place for our workspace, and I found that when a rule triggers, it also notifies me of this as their creator. Is there a way to disable the automation bot updates for myself under these automation rules?

Hi Joseph Sanchez, welcome to the forum 👋

Could you please share how those rules are set up? Some screenshots could be helpful 🙂

Hi Johannes Knünz, welcome to the forums 👋 There no plans to disable the bot at the moment, but it would be great if you could share which updates from the bot you don't need to receive!

Hi,

Just want to add to this request...

We have an automation that any new task that a user ads is automatically assigned to the user (Because we enter our own tasks). This of course results in a new inbox message - that is completely unnecessary, since it's a task the user just added by himself!

This just makes the inbox unusable since it's filled with "Automation bot" notifications that spam it completely, and make us miss a lot of important notifications from team members.

This is a small fix that can really help the experience in Wrike!

Thanks

@Lisa over 5 years later and this is still an issue. We get spammed with hundreds of email messages with: @assignees Due date is approaching. Please give an update or change the dates and there is not a way to disable it.

I'd like to also vote for more nuanced notification preferences with Wrike Bot. Specifically this notification that comes in with approvals: "Please select approvers and files and start approval."

It literally triggers instantaneously, even though I immediately after select the approvers/file. Can this notification be delayed and only trigger if an approver is not selected after X minutes? There is no way to shut this notification off that I can see, and only causes unnecessary notifications.
