Move multiple tasks on the timeline

Is there any way to select and move multiple tasks in the Timeline view? And in a similar vein, is there a way to move a whole Task/Subtask block together?

I've set up a project template with several groups of tasks. Once I've duplicated and rescheduled the template to create a real project, I want to be able to adjust the task timings to suit the specific project. This often involves extending the duration of some tasks and then moving some of the subsequent tasks to accommodate. It is tedious to move each of a dozen or so tasks back a set number of days individually, so I'm looking for a better/faster way.

Also, I have some tasks that have subtasks. When I move the main task to reschedule it, the subtasks don't move so I have to individually move them to keep the schedule correct. Is there any way to move the whole block as one entity?

I've discovered the Shift-Left Mouse and drag on a Milestone will reschedule all tasks dependent on the Milestone. But there's doesn't seem to be any Shift (Ctrl or Alt) drag functions for tasks or task blocks.

Hi Rob, thanks for the great question! You're absolutely right about shift+clicking and dragging a milestone task. We do recommend adding one milestone somewhere in the chain which would help with rescheduling a whole chain of dependencies, while preserving the gaps between them. As for subtasks, they get rescheduled if they are also connected to their parent task through dependencies. Subtask and parent task relations are definitely something we're discussing a lot right now, and lots of improvements are being worked on in this area, so thank you for voicing your thoughts about this!

Hi, I have the same problem as Rob and although you've explained about milestones and subtasks, you haven't really addressed his main issue 😀

There is currently no way to move multiple tasks on the Timeline view.  I know you can Shift Dates in List View, but it's nowhere near as visually intuitive as moving them all on the Timeline view.

Is this a feature that is planned?

Hello!

I have the same issue here, trying to move multiple tasks in the Gantt Chart. Is there a way to do that?...maybe not yet?

Thank you

I am having the same issue as well. There really needs to be a way to select all tasks and subtasks and move them while preserving the timeline. This seems pretty basic to me?

Hey @Scot, thanks for reaching out here 🙂 If you have a chain of dependent tasks, then you can mass reschedule them on the Gantt Chart. Gaps between tasks are preserved when you reschedule tasks in this way. Please find more info on our Help Center.

Please let me know if that helped

Had the same issue, but moving the milestone solves it for me for now, I like it. Multiple selection would be far more intuitive however.
