Request Forms Launching a Project + A Task
We use request forms to both manage incoming requests from clients internally and to give status updates on those tasks to the client.
I know you can set request forms to automatically create either a task or a project from a template, but I wonder if there's a way to do both / multiple?
Then end goal is creating one space where the client can stay up to date on our progress without having to see all of our internal chatter, and have another space where our internal team can communicate without confusing/annoying the client.
What would be the best way to accomplish this in Wrike?
Thanks!
Hi Sam, thanks for the detailed post! Just one thing I wanted to confirm: do you want to trigger the creation of a Project populated with tasks, or the creation of an independent Project, and an independent task in a different location? If you're looking for the former, this is possible when choosing to create a Project from a template which has been populated with tasks initially. Happy to dive into the details, let me know which option you were looking for! :)
Hi Anastasia,
Thanks for the response -- what I'm hoping for is a version of the latter (the creation of an independent Project, and an independent task in a different location). If it's easier, it can create two independent projects, or two independent tasks. As long as the things being created can be in two different folders we'll be in business!
Let me know if this needs any more details / clarification.
Thanks!
Hey Sam! Got it, that makes sense. I would really love to learn the processes this would be used for!
I totally concur that being able to create a task and/or project in 2 different locations with 1 request form would be awesome! Please add this. The possibilities would be endless.
@Kevin Hey, thanks for bringing that up 🙂 I'm going to move this thread to the Product Feedback section so that other Community members could +1 it.

HI there, my question goes in the same direction, though I don't want to create a project and task simultaneously.
I'd like to be able to create either a task or a project from the same request form. Some of our teams work with the kanban board view and rely on tasks, Other teams rely heavily on a project-based process with individual tasks. The requests for both come in through the same request form, but we have to manually change the projects to tasks to be visible in the board view. It would be ideal if we could choose which asset request translates into a task and which into a project while using the same request.

I just wanted to add my support to Achim's request. We have one primary Request Form for our Marketing department. As part of the form, people select the type of request they need help with (email, web, social, etc.). They are then redirected to a page where they can enter the supporting details. It would be great if we could control whether the Request Form creates a Project or a Task at that point. For example, if someone picks "Marketing Collateral" as the type of request, that would continue to create a project with tasks (create content, design the piece, etc.). But if they pick "Social Media Post", that would create a task only, as opposed to a project that only has one task.
