Report on Streams / Streams per project in Dashboards

Hi, our management team just wants a weekly update in their mailbox (without having to go to Wrike) on what's new / what's been happening with some of our projects.

The stream works great if you could add some more filters (f.ex only show newly created tasks, only show comments to taks, etc).

Now all we desperately need is to make a sort of report of the stream (so the comments & tasks) that can be sent on a weekly basis to your mailbox. This way, upper management can keep track of what's happening with a  project this week, without having to subscribe to everything and without having to go through every project and task in wrike itself. For me, this seems like a basic feature in a projectplanning tool: getting weekly status updates on what's actually buzzing in a project.

Possible solutions?

  1. In the current report tool, you can only report on a project or its tasks, not the comments. Perhaps making the activity stream optional to include in reports is a solution for this.

  2. Or, you could expand the dashboard feature: now you can add projects to a dashboard, based on the filters you’ve selected in the list-view of that project. If you could select the option “add to dashboard” via the stream view of a project, you could make dashboards with streams of several projects to get a clear overview of what’s buzzing per project.

Now you can only add the general activity stream for all projects to a dashboard, this is in no way clear and easy to work with.

Also you would still need to be able to set some filter options of what you want to view in the activity stream: for us it’s all about what tasks were newly created this week and what comments were given to certain tasks (not the details like someone changed the date or description or added a field etc: these are not the things management is interested in)

Hi Elyn :) Thanks for the feedback! I know we don't have the exact functionality you're looking for (being able to have a Report that includes both new tasks and all comments from a Project), so we'll direct people here if we hear similar suggestions. I wanted to suggest some potential options based on existing functionality, in case they help now.

  1. Comment Stream. Select a Folder/Project, then switch to the Stream tab, check the box next to "hide auto updates" in the filters tab. This makes it so that you only see comments and file attachment history in the Stream. That should help declutter the view a little bit.
  2. Reports. You can create a Report that shows tasks created this week. You can then share that Report with anyone who needs to monitor that information, and they can subscribe to the Report so that they get a weekly reminder to check out the Report.

I know that requires people to check in two different places, but hopefully, it at least helps you more easily see the information you need. I would love to hear your thoughts on those options and if they do help at all.

Hi, plus one from me. The Stream feature is a great way to monitor Wrike activities at a high level and see what people within the company are working on. It would be very useful to have additional stream filters to see only updates from teams or specific employees, or between dates etc.

I have to agree with the original poster.  you can obviously create streams, you already do so.

Make your report tool  include streams as a type of report with the filters already associated with Streams.

Include date ranges or how far to go back, because streams does already do this by ordering from most recent to oldest.

I could create it, and make it available to subscribe to.

Or you could include streams in the Analytics as an additional report type.
