Have the ability to pull in Project ID# to the field via request form with other mapped title fields

We want the ability to have the project ID# and the Project name populated from our request forms. Currently, we have to go to table view and pull the ID# and put it into the name...it's time-consuming. I know the functionality is there because we can set fields to populate the project name, just not the project ID#.

i.e. 123456 - Project Name - Location

Hi Heather, this is not currently on the short-term roadmap so posting the idea here is the best way to add it the internal discussion with our Product Team so thanks to you for sharing!

We format the title for projects this way:

SN Name, BldgRoom, Start Time-End Time

So it looks like this:

123456 Faculty Senate Meeting DCC308 2pm-4pm

I have it all set to do this automagically but have to go in and manually add the serial number to each project.

So yes i want that functionality....

using tag/variable also should be useful, so we can insert {ID} in subject and/or in message or everywhere we want

also for {user}, {project}, and so on....

Hey @Wrike / Stephen - Any movement on this?

We would love to have a section for each request form where you can configure the title (and description for that matter! but that's not what this thread is about). And to be specific, when we use a form to create a new Project (from a template)

Example

A request form may look like this:

  1. Short Name - Please give a short name or title for your request. [open-end]
  2. Product - What product is this for? [drop-down] [mapped to custom field]
  3. Description - Describe the request in detail. [open-end]

In the proposed Title Configuration area, the Wrike admin would be able to construct the desired title format using form fields as well as other useful fields that Wrike could provide. For example:

Form Fields:

  • {shortname}
  • {product}
  • {description}

Wrike-Provided Fields:

  • {folderid}  - the unique ID of the new folder/project
  • {requestnumber} - a number that increments with each new request, beginning at 1
  • etc.

Using these fields, the Wrike admin could make something like this:

  • CR-{requestnumber} | {product} | {shortname}

So when a request is submitted, it would have be created with a title like this:

  • CR-25 | STAR | Update key fields for customer address

As Mauro and Faris are mentioning it would be nice to have the possibility to use template tags for the title in the request task/ project, as it would make it much easier for the assignees to easily get an overview of the current requests.

We especially would like to see this for fields that we are not currently able to access such as {user} who sent the request.

It's visible in the task itself, however not when we look at the list view.

Hi all, new to Wrike.

We are designing a form for external users to complete. Has anyone managed to create a field for the following use case:

  • {requestnumber} - a number that increments with each new request, beginning at 1
