customized meaning of task status checkbox when using customized workflow
At the moment I do click the status to advance through the task stages.
Could we change the meaning of the checkbox so it will go from one arbitary stage to another arbitary stage in the work flow, so that it does the right thing in our custom work flow by being context aware about which stage we are in?

We would use custom workflows instead of dependencies if this were an option. However, as it is now, the checkbox is too dangerous. If we have an 8-step workflow and someone mistakenly checks the box (marking it complete) instead of changing the workflow status via the drop down, the whole task (really series of tasks) disappears! And since people are used to completing other types of tasks that way, it is likely to happen. Without this capability, any kind of review workflow is far less useful / valuable. Please consider allowing us to use the checkbox to simply change the status to the next status in line, rather than complete the task.
