[Status: Launched! ๐] Deleting Versions of a File
I saw a post elsewhere in the forums about this, but didn't see one here. (Apologies if I missed it.)ย
It would be phenomenal to be able to delete one version of an uploaded file. I use the "Edit" feature a lot to mark up PDFs for our design team, and I often forget and save it out of habit, which creates a new version. Is this an update on the horizon for Wrike?ย

p.s. LOVE the new ability to edit and delete comments in the proofing & editing tool. Also the COLORS!

Good point Cait!ย Wrike can get very messy wrong versions of a file are added.ย It'd be nice if we were able to clean this up, without having to delete the entire document versions. Please help us work better!!

Hi Wrike! Being able to delete versions of a file would be H U G E. I work with a ton of teams and need to give feedback to them on various PDFs. Anytime I accidentally get my wires crossed and upload a file to the wrong task it's a headache to explain to people where to look. I know it's my own fault, but being able to delete at least the most recently uploaded version would be so great.

100%, our team is uploading versions day to day and we literally hit a snag today because an incorrect version is in and now we can't remove it. When can we expect a solution? Thank you!
I agree with others who have previously commented that the ability to delete a single file without losing ALL the versions would be very helpful. There are times when a file may be placed in the wrong area or uploaded before it's truly "ready" to be uploaded when a person may essentially want to undo the upload. (Ever hit Send on an email before it's truly "ready"? This may not be quite as potentially disastrous, but still...) We've had this happen twice recently and had no way of restoring the versions without going directly to the Wrike support team. I do like the ability to upload new versions and having the history, but it looks like there are several of us that feel there's a real need to add this ability to delete a single version of a file.
We would definitely love to have the capability to delete just one specific version of an edited file.ย We do internal proofing/approval as well as guest reviews, so this would come in handy.ย Thanks for posting this!

We need this SO badly! I made the mistake of uploaded a file to the wrong task, where it now sits at the top of the version list, and can't delete it without deleting all the previous versions of the correct file. Argh!!!!

We need the ability to delete files inย version control. Appears we currently doย NOT have the ability to remove a file uploaded in error? Any humans using this program will occasionally need the ability to fix/edit errors. Let us know!ย
I agree - our team could really use this! Not having the ability to remove the most recent version has lead to some big headaches for us. Thank you!

It might be a nice-to-have if the original uploader notified when this happens.
Hi all, I think that restore of the file/version feature also would be helpful.
Because right now there is no way to do it with admin rights.

For now, I've added the "Backburner" status here, which means that our Product team is interested, but the feature is not on the roadmap for the near future. I'll get back to you when that changes.

Backburner? As pointed out above, human beings use this software and being able to fix a mistake is imperative. What do we need to do to get it moved up on the priority list?
I agree. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to delete a version -- most often the most recently uploaded one. It would really help us, and it seems like a function that should have been baked in from the get go. We are not alone in this desire. Please consider escalating again?

I predict that many more people want and need this feature than have left feedback about it...as was said in this thread: the question has been asked many times even if it wasnt left in product feedback. I have left it in the feedback tool in the Wrike app itself more than once. Agree that we need to prioritize this sooner than later. Not a small issue.
I think we could go one step further and say it's not giving us the control we deserve for managing the space we pay for with our Wrike subscriptions--unless versions don't count against our space quotas.

Yes please! To be able to delete a version of a file within the stream would be amazing. I once uploaded a file as a new version and it was the wrong file and when I tried to delete it from the stream it then removed all the previous versions of the file too! It would also help for when just a small change is made to the file, for example a type error, it doesn't really justify having a new version number for such a small change which is hardly noticeable. Thanks!

FYI: We currently use a cloud file transfer+sharing service that has versioning and the same type of comparison toolset Wrike proof features with the ability to remove single versions within a stack of multiple versions.

We also are in need of this basic function. We end up having to delete the attachment and lose all comments and versions. this has been requested for 3 years + please, we really do actually need this.ย
