Duration and estimates
Is there a way to set a date range for tasks with a different duration?
Example:
Task 1
Date range to complete = 1 week
Estimated amount of effort = 1 day

Hi Tom, thank you for the question! It sounds like the Workload View with Effort Allocation enabled could help with that. Have you had a chance to try that out? Happy to dive into the details, and here are some resources with info about that:
That's great - thank you for the info.
I have seen on some other posts that you are 'currently working on some changes to the resource allocation experience in Wrike'
As pointed out by others it would be really good if the effort allocation could automatically spread the time over the duration in the workload view.
e.g.
Effort Allocation = 3 hrs
Duration = 3 days
Each day on the workload should display 1 hrs
(1 hour per day for the 3 days totalling 3 hours)
Tom, thanks for getting back to me and for sharing your feedback about this! :)
We'd also benefit from @tom's recommendation.
This feature is really needed. Hope it comes out soon!
Hi all, I've moved this conversation to the Product Feedback section so everyone can vote for the idea and it provides better exposure for our Product Team's review.

In our use case, we need for the allocated hours to remain constant, even if the duration of the task changes. For example, if we allocate a total of 10 hours to a task that has an initial duration of 5 days, my understanding is that we need to show the Allocated Hours as 2.00, set the duration at 5 days, and the total Allocated Hours will show 10 hours.
However, if the duration is later changed because the timeframe for the task expands, I do not want to add hours to the task. For example, something happens during the task and the original duration changes from 5 days to 10 days. I still want 10 Allocated Hours for the task and do not want the duration to allow "extra" hours for the task to be complete.
I could make this adjustment manually, at the time that the duration is changed, but I can't stop my users from adjusting task duration nor do I know how to alert our project administrator when this happens, so it's difficult to catch at the point of occurrence.
My end objective is to see what work is allocated to my team each week, so that we understand their workload and can either assign new projects based on this view or realign resources to make sure that we hit the customer deliverables. But the present functionality that allows the total Allocated Hours to be adjusted by Duration makes it very difficult to keep overall project time intact. Any advice is welcome/appreciated. Thanks!
Hi Greg, our Product Team is researching and discussing enhancements to resource allocations across Wrike. This use-case and example add lots of value to those conversations.
No dates or info to confirm right now but the Team are aware of this thread, so if I have any updates I'll post back.
🙌
Hi Stephen,
Is there any movement in this being released?
Thanks
Hi Laura and all,
I work in an agency environment where we are responsible for tasks billed on hourly rates. I would really like to see this implemented as well. This feature was requested almost a year ago and still not movements on the product side. #Concerned
It looks like the effort allocation lab is no longer available. Was this feature dropped?
