[Status: Launched ๐Ÿš€] Rich Text in Task Comments

Can you guys please allow for rich text in task comments?

It would be very helpful to at least add in the basics like bold and underline so that we can emphasize points etc.

ย @Catalina Lopera, I am not certain quite yet. I believe my end of year comes in Nov, so I have a little time to look into this. I came from Asana and Jira. Jira's cloud service is deathly slow, so perhaps I'll return back to Asana.

I also now find it comical that even this portal can't @ other people easily.

This is very essential. I really hope Wrike adds text formatting like highlighting, underlining, bold and bullet points features to the commenting section soon.

What's the status on allowing text formatting to comments, AND also having WRIKE NOT strip out text formatting that comes in from email?ย  Need to see text that has different colors, font sizes, etc. PLEASE!

Cal,

Don't hold your breath on this one. Wrike seems to love to roll out features no one is asking for (ie. workspace) while nelgecting the request of users needing a tool to enhance communication.

Please make rich text a priority! It is very difficult for staff and clients to easily read the notes in commnents. It would seem obvious to put this MAJOR upgrade in front of new themes, which is just silly.

And I would also say that, if the comment 'comes' from an email, you should keep the original HTML formatting of the emais itself. Another good point would be to display, in the thread, the emails in a way (for example in a rectangular shape with a smallย couvert besides the beginning of the message, showing that it is an email), and the comments directly made in Wrike in a bubble, like in the comics. I guess this would really improve readability.

@Massimo,ย having seen and been part of building multiple such solutions,ย I totally disagree and see that as a completely different problem that is wayย different toย solveย (and very difficult to most peoplesย satisfaction). I suggest you create another thread for that specific issue.

@Sebastian, I agree. One issue at a time. Let Wrike at least give us the ability to format text in the comments.

@Sebastian - I agree. I see Massimo's response as only a workaround. This would mean we would resort to email to format items in Wrike - which Wrike is supposed to be the platform we are using to get away from... email.

Myself and the rest of my team would love to have this feature too. For any communication where weย have the need for simple formatting for comments we'veย resorted to sending each other emails and copying the text into Wrike to preserve the communication trail for the project managers etc. Kind of defeats the purpose! Full formattingย such is available in the "description" field would be useful in the comments too, but even the simpler formatting options like heading sizes, bold/italic/underline, strike-through and numbered/bullet lists would be a start. Doesn't even have to be a rich-text editor, this could be done using pre-determined character-sequences (like how Trello does it) and your site does a search/replace with the equivalent HTML code when displaying the comment stream - wouldn't have thought that would be as big a job as a fully featured Rich-Text editor or porting the description options to the comments.

Another comments stream feature that would be useful would be a "show all updates" to show all comments in the stream rather than having to repeatedly keep hitting the "show more updates" - but that's for another post.ย

Markdown support would be nice at a minimum.
