[Status: Launched ๐] Rich Text in Task Comments
Can you guys please allow for rich text in task comments?
It would be very helpful to at least add in the basics like bold and underline so that we can emphasize points etc.
It looks like we don't have the translated page you're looking for, but we do have other content in English and offer support in English.
What can we help you with?

Collaboration Just Got Easier, Introducing Rich Commenting
This would be a great feature. ย Basically like the editor used for the description field - although would be better if had the ability to resize images rather than the default thumbnail size.ย
We use comments to provide progress & feedback for a given task so a basic HTML/Rich Text editor would provide more of a visual impact.
Hi @Dave and @Rodney thanks for your feedback here. I think weย have a similar post related to Code Formatting in Descriptions and Comments, does that sound like what you're looking for or would you like a different type of formatting tool/options for comments?ย
It's related but a completely separate request.
Stephanie,
Theย inability toย formatย text in the comments is the ISSUE.Having the SAME TOOLS available in the comments area for formattingย TEXT that are ALREADY AVAILABLE in the description area.ย
This is where we communication and we have NOย visual tools available to make items distinct and noticeable.
That's a miss.
OMG you have limited options in thisย veryย comment field! Give us the same at the very LEAST!
Hi Micki, I'll quickly jump in for Stephanie here. Thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts about this. At the moment, the description and comment fields work differently, but our team is already looking into ways ofย enhancing and updating both of these areas. As for the comments field on the Community, I'm afraid it isn't something we can directly impact, since it's powered by a different platform, Zendesk, which we use for hosting our Help Portal. That said, it's great that you've shared your feedback about Wrike functionality here at this time, as our Product Team is learning about the featuresย which areย important to you. Keep the great ideas coming! :)
Please add text formatting to comments. You even have them in this box that I'm typing in now. They're a basic function that is extremely important.
ย
The ability to adjust size / colors would be helpful as well.
Yes, please. This is not good. In my comments I want to make a list of things and I want to highlight things and I can't. ย Very frustrating.
Is anyone from wrike able to provide an update as to if this is happening? This thread is now two months old...
Hi everyone, we had one of our Product Managers respond on a thread related to the same topic and wanted to share his response here. It doesn't contain a planned release date but helps shed light on what the team is thinking about.ย
ย
Just chiming in to add another vote for this. Would love to see updates to the basic formatting options in the Comments section. ย We use Wrike extensively (and love it). With remote staff in different countries and time zones, it's a great way to keep a discussion going without meeting. I frequently look back on threads for reference, which is easier to do than referring to my handwritten notes from various meetings.
Using the Wrike threads this way also means the threads can get quite extensive. It's challenging to provide detailed comments or software testing feedback for our internal developers without an ability to emphasize important itemsย with bold or highlighted text formatted lists, etc.
One can only do so much with the use of white space and manual creation ofย numbered lists. Thanks for keeping this at the top of the list! I do appreciate the fairly recent updates to the description features, such as the ability to insert different header styles. That alone has been a huge help.
ย
Erica, thank you for the feedback! It's always fantastic hearing about how teams use certain features, and it helps map our own roadmaps and enhancements. Thanks for keeping this topic active!
Tossing another upvote to this feature request :) Nothing else to say that hasnt already been said.
+1
Hi, 7 months since the initialย thread was created, and 4-months since Andrey addressed that it is being updated.... any update?ย
Jake, I'm wondering the same thing. PLEASE get this done.ย
Please do this, it was a great option when we were using Asana!
Absolutely need this feature. We send our emails to Wrike via the Outlook Addin to keep the communication streams within each project respectively. We use the commenting and tasks feature to catalogue our internal and client communications. Our clients and colleagues are sending feedback in bullets, bold, italics, highlights, etc. and toย need to be able to reference these directions across the Team. Without formatting, this is impossible.
Just adding my name to this request โ it should be at the top of the list, please and thanks.
+1.ย ย Also, please allow extra spaces and carriage returns in comments for readability of the comment later.ย Right now, they are truncated when submitting a comment.
My vote for this feature request!
ย
Add my voice here... Need this !!!
This is absolutely essential! There's another thread to upvote with more comments here.
ย I have posted my vote for this somewhere on a forum thread before. PLEASE find a way to enhance the Wrike comment functionality with at least the most basic functions available in rich text comment areas.
For example, I am typing this veryย comment on a Wrike forum. I have the ability to complete simple formatting, like applying bold font, italics, bullet list even in my providing my comment TO WRIKE STAFF. Please see screenshot. http://prntscr.com/jcv7qjย
At this point, any assistance with formatting would be better than having nothing: Bold, yellow highlight or different font color, bullet list, hyperlink. I don't care about crazy emoticons. For the love of Jesus, I just need basic formatting in the comments. :) Think most people would agree with that.
I do a lot of software testing and it is PAINFUL for myself (the authorย attempting to organize my feedback in an organized and simple manner)ย and for the poor developer (trying to digest my testing feedback) when I have sometimes upwardsย 10-15 points or sub-points to provide. That is a challenge to produce in a digestible format when the only functions I have available to emphasize my points are ALL CAPS or number lists I manually create myself.
I absolutely love Wrike and I am stunned that this is not already a basic feature considering how many wonderful features Wrike has implemented over the last 3+ years. Someone please help us! Thank you so much!
Erica - Thanks for articulating this need so well, AGAIN.
PLEASEย Wrike Staff make this a priority over "new" features no one is requesting.
This is a vital enhancement needed as soon as possible.
"For the love of Jesus, I just need basic formatting..."
Thank you, Erica.
Can I also extend this plea to the expanded task window, where the best that can be said about the text "color options" ย - white text boxed over a choice of six colors - are that they are better than nothing. A choice of text colors would be better. A choice of a few good ol' highlight colors behind BLACK text would be better.
Standard tools that folks use every day in word processing / text editing apps to communicate.
Please.
+1 on this.
Odds are Wrike will not do this. They never seem to implement features that are pretty common sense to have in a workflow.ย
Once our year is up, I'll more than likely be jettisoning Wrike. Too many basic features one would expect in the product ... esp when given how much we pay for this ... are not done.ย
There are nice features, but it's clumsy to use in many places.
Over a year and we are still waiting for BASIC formatting functions in the COMMENTS. This is unacceptable.ย
Ben Lee, which product will you be moving to? Interested as I feel the same way.
Adding to this... A simple copy and paste from OneNote is near impossible unless the text is unformatted (which is almost never).ย
When you paste from OneNote and the text is formatted - Wrike adds extra lines, extra space, changes bullets to weird symbols... it would take more time for the user to reformat the pasted text than it would for a user to retype everything. This makes us very inefficient.
For the creative side of our company - info from OneNote is an every day - every hour - item...ย
