Hi Courtney, thank you for sharing this! Currently it's possible to add only a general Activity Stream (not Folder based) widget, but I think it's a really interesting idea, so I've moved the post over to the Product Feedback section. If anyone else is interested in this too, they can upvote the request and add their comments about it :)

I agree with Courtney.  The inability to customize a dashboard to a project or folder level greatly limits the usefulness of the dashboard feature.  I recognize that I can click through to the task list and then change the view, but that defeats the purpose of having a dashboard where I can see everything in one view.

A general activity stream is just too ... well, general 🙂... adding at least a folder/project filter is a must.... even better if you can filter it further (by user perhaps...)

Agreed, I would appreciate being able to customize the stream - by folder, by user and by status.

My dashboards are focused on specific folders. Therefore, I don't use the Activity Stream Widget; but would like to

Agreed - this would be a useful functionality to optimise the dashboard viewing experience.

Furthermore, we need to be able to filter the stream in the Dashboard similar to the Activity Stream view in a folder/project. E.g. "Everything" "Everything I follow" "Assigned to me" "My conversations" and most important "Hide auto updates". This really helps boil down the stream and really make it useful. Currently, this is the best equivalent I have found to a "read receipt" on comments I make. Without it, the conversation can die or get lost in the shuffle.

Getting this feature added to a dashboard with editing what folders to follow would definitely be a great improvement. Now since it is showing ALL the updates, it is not useful in any dashboard that we use.

Example, I have added all projects from one customer to one dashboard, and I have widgets that shows the projects, another shows tasks that are due let's say this week, and since I have no time or interest go and click every task one by one to see what's up, then this activity stream would be the last widget on the dashboard to show what is going on.
