Default setting for Show/Hide Subfolders

When viewing a project their is no logic to whether subfolders are hidden or displayed. I suggest a feature whereby the user can choose a default option to Show/Hide Subfolders for all of their projects.   This setting should be user specific to accommodate the preferences of each user.

Hi @Paul! After you make a selection to show or hide Subfolders, that selection should stay in place as you switch between Folders/Projects. Let me know if you or someone on your team is experiencing something different!

Hi @stephanie!  That's what we've been told by Wrike Support a few different times, but it isn't correct.  I have been using the latest version of Google Chrome and cookies are enabled, but the show/hide subfolders setting is unpredictable so I'm just used to checking the setting every time I go into a folder which is sort of a hassle and for some of my team they forget to do that and sometimes miss tasks because of it.  Anyway, I hope Wrike can either fix this feature or introduce a new field to allow the user to set the default.  Thanks.

Hi @Paul! Hope you don't mind if I jump in for Stephanie here. I just spoke about this behavior with our technical team, and the current logic is that the setting is saved and valid for the current login session. This means that if you choose "Show Subfolders" right after logging in, the setting is saved until you log out, and you're able to switch between different Folders and Projects and see tasks from their Subfolders (even if you refresh the page or open new browser tabs/windows). If this isn't the case for you, please let me know, I'll be happy to open up a ticket to investigate this further!

Hi @Anastasia.  Yes, that is how it is functioning for me.  But that is why I'm making a feature request.  That is a poor design.  What about your users that always want the default to be to Show or Hide?  You're making me make that decision every time I log in and that's a nuisance.  Hence my feature request.  Thanks.

@Paul, I can definitely see the value in this request, thank you for submitting it! I wanted to make sure that the current logic of the setting works correctly for you and your team, and I think it's great that you shared your feedback about how this functionality can be improved. Thank you again for your insight on this. Happy to hear about any other suggestions/ideas!

@Anastasia, regarding to your comment in my first post.
As mentioned our company would also be really glad to have a default on/off setting for Show Subfolders.
Thank you for considering my request!

May I ask if this feature will be added to Wrike this year?

Hi Loris, it's not something that our team is looking at right now. They are aware of this thread however and if it's added to the road-map, I'll be sure to keep you up to date here. Thanks for your suggestion!

A +1 for this - seems counter-intuitive for this setting not to be persistent, or at least to default to the 'safer' of the two options - as it is, tasks will be missed.

I'm going to have to train the team to do this, but it is bound to be missed from time to time.

+ 1 for this settings...currently it is very annoying to have to show/hide subfolders again and again

I'm struggling with this now, myself. My new manager is always looking for reasons to "ding" Wrike, so she can make us change to TFS, and this is one of her pet peeves: Why do I always have to click "show tasks..."

BIG ++++++++1

Just started with Wrike and this seems to be a bit of a no brainer.  Particularly the reset between sessions is confusing for users, a nice visible slide button to show what is the state would be great too.
