Folllowing List for Post: If main task is marked Completed, ask if user wants to mark all open Sub-tasks as completed
[this list is visible for admins and agents only]
If a main task is marked as completed or cancelled, the sub-tasks are not changed so if they are still active, they will be "dangling" in the project as individual tasks, often without due dates or assignments. I suggest that if a user changes the status of a task that they be asked if they would like to apply the same status to all active sub-tasks for that task (if any)
Got my vote - great suggestion.
+1 I came here to make this same suggestion!
I agree. Prompt will get user to mark as "complete". Got my vote!
this would be great!
Hi everyone, thank you for your input on this! Subtasks are something we're discussing internally right now, and all of your great suggestions are really helpful. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas regarding the functionality you'd like to see in Wrike!
Testing Wrike out... the biggest deterrent to me right now is how the subtasks are handled when the main task is completed... We have too many tasks in our video production pipeline to be dealing with all the orphans in the main list!
We will create a template using PreProduction, Production, and Post, and sometimes we'll complete a stage with a bunch of subtasks that weren't completed, or that got completed with out going into the project manager... My surprise when I come back to project and there is a million subtasks in the main list! terrifying and not worth my time.
Hi Jeremy, thank you for commenting here! This is a popular request which our Product Team is monitoring, and they're already focusing on reworking subtask logic based on these suggestions. Thank you for describing your use case here, it's really helpful hearing about your approach to this!
Hi everyone! I wanted to share some exciting news with you: now when you complete a task that has active subtasks, you get a pop-up asking you if you want to complete subtasks as well. It works the same way when you cancel or defer an active parent task. Thanks to everyone who upvoted this post, and I’d love to hear your feedback about this feature. :)

Hey Anna - I got no such prompt. Did they already decide to do away with this? I came here to +1 having this feature, got excited, then got bummed :(
I was surprised to receive this when I closed an open task earlier this week. Nice feature!
PLEASE.
