I'm just curious how many Wrike Stars are certified through the Project Management Institute.

So I have a follow-up question. Did you pursue certification on your own, or was it part of a group or a company initiative? I am thinking to get my own certification, but I may decide to set up a small cadre of coworkers to study with me. With the Wrike PM classes and LinkedIn Learning, I think we could get ready for the test together. Any thoughts or tips?

Hi Kelly,

I pursued the certification on my own. I took some udemy courses (Joseph Philips and Andrew Ramdayal)  for prep and to learn about the exam course content, it helped me very much more than just reading through the PMBOK Guide.

Your approach to taking the certification as a group sounds great as that can allow you and your team to learn and apply the concepts in practice in your work post-certification.  I would recommend doing some practice tests as well before your actual exam and taking note of the time you take for answering questions, as for me I did face a few time issues when going through my exam. You need to ensure you get through all questions.

Hi Kelly

I got my PMP two years ago, so 6th edition of PMBOK, which was fairly unreadable. I did bootcamp to get my 35 hours registered training but actually I don't think that really helped with my learning.  There are good courses on LinkedIn etc that I got more out of.

I agree with Piyush, studying as part of a group is ideal. Practice tests are essential, there are plenty online, some of them free. There are good resources for this on PMIs own site. I seem to remember doing around 1000 practice questions which seemed to be typical based on what I saw on various forums.

Good luck!

Thanks Sarah Irving and Piyush Menon! I think I will check on interest in my company. :)

I am currently using Coursera on Google to get a PM certification. It is a great walk through of the PM courses in general. After completion I will start to study for the PMP. I need about 12 more months to sit for the PMI test. - GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

I would love to be able to use Wrike to log hours for the PMI certification test log.

Are there any PDU's for Wrike courses?

Hey Brandon Dunham, there are no PDUs from my understanding. Here's how long the certificates are valid:

  • Bronze certificates are valid for two years.
  • Product Mastery Silver certificate is valid for one year.
  • Report Mastery Silver certificate is valid for three years.

And you can also get recertified. Please find more info on the Wrike Discover website. I hope this helps!
