Kicking off a Blueprint project via an e-mail
Hello, I am hoping someone can help me with some possible ways to address a new challenge I am faced with.
Up until just recently, our team was using Wrike request forms to kick off new mini-workflow projects.
- Request form gets submitted
- Request form interfaces with blueprint templates to create a new project, and deposit it into the correct folder
- Blueprint auto assigns assignees to tasks
- We'd complete the work
Because not all employees who submit requests through Wrike request forms have access to Wrike, a decision was made by management to kill the Wrike request forms, move these forms to Microsoft Sharepoint, and leave it to my group to figure out how to pick up where Sharepoint left off.
We're not interested in filling out our own request forms every time we get an e-mail from Sharepoint. Is there a way to send an e-mail to wrike@wrike.com to kick off a new project via a Blueprint template, and deposit it into the correct folder? I know I am probably reaching here, but I need to figure out a solution quickly.
Thanks!
We use request forms for project and task requests from team members who don't use Wrike and it works really well. I don't see how that's an issue that would cause them to discontinue the forms?
No disrespect intended—just trying to make sure I understand the roadblocks.
Hi Anna, thanks for responding!
The roadblock is non-wrike users not being able to instantaneously see the status, due dates, and any delays on any and all open projects "on demand". I would generate a report and post it daily, but that was not often enough to satisfy the people who wanted to see work progress at any point in time.
Now that our org has moved on from me being able to manage our work inflows through forms, I am hoping I can salvage part of how we used to do business by keeping Blueprints.
Hi Aaron,
I am facing the same situation with our end customers. Which I would like to not include, as users in Wrike but still allow them to post requests (with forms) and see their progress.
I'm planning on using a 3rd party software (e.g. HubSpot - where we are resellers) to be able to integrate their Customer Portal (ticketing area) directly into Wrike.
If you want, as soon as I have a solution, we'll talk ;)
Thanks
Is there any way to use excel to create a form that can be imported into Wrike?
Hey Kelly R, this isn't possible at the moment, but it would be very interesting to learn about your use case!

Thanks, Lisa I was just trying to come up with a solution for Aaron. If they could import spreadsheets from SharePoint, they could make a sort of request form template in Excel and import instead of creating a new request manually each time.
I'm sure they will figure out a good workaround.
Thanks Kelly R for the idea.
Ultimately what I need is for Sharepoint and Wrike to work together so that Sharepoint could send data to Wrike to kick off new Wrike projects, but from what I gather, the only way to accomplish this would be via add-on licensing costs and our org currently is not interested in the additional spend.
I may end up having to pull these projects out of Wrike and use something more basic like Microsoft Planner. I can only manually input requests for so long...
