Map User Response to Custom User Field

I believe this idea came up previously under other posts but doesn't seem to be implemented yet. I'd like  to be able to map user responses on request forms to custom user fields.

Hi Nikita Gupta, welcome to the Community! 👋

It's possible to map certain question types to different types of custom fields. For example, if your question type is "paragraph", it can be mapped to text-type custom fields. If you have a "user" type of question, it can be mapped to the assignee (for tasks) and owner (for projects) fields. Please let me know if that helps 😊

That I'm aware of. I was specifically looking for a function that would map "user" question type to a user-type custom field.

Thank you for clarifying and sorry for my misunderstanding, Nikita Gupta! This isn't available currently, so I suggest moving this thread to the Product Feedback forum so others can support your suggestion. Please let me know what you think and I'll be happy to do it 😊

We use custom fields to define users with formal roles other than project owner.  We try to keep a single owner as recommended Wrike best practices.  Allowing request forms to populate users into user-type custom fields enables role management to occur in wrike without annoying re-work.

+1

Tried for a long time to figure out how to use a "User" question in a request form to populate a blueprint custom field. We also have a single project owner for each project, and setting that via a request form works fine. But we also need to be able to add the business unit manager in a custom field, and thought we could achive that too via a request form, but this is a disappointment. Here's hoping that Wrike develops Custom User Fields in request forms.
