Hi Alyssa Sharp, here is how you can deactivate a user. Please note that you have to be an account owner or admin to deactivate a user -

  1. Click your profile image in the Workspace's upper right-hand corner.
  2. Select "Settings" from the dropdown.
  3. Click "Users" in the left panel to view a list of all users in the account.
  4. Click the name or profile image of the user you want to deactivate.
  5. Click “Deactivate user” in the panel that appears.
  6. Enter your password in the pop-up that appears and click "Confirm".

Hope this helps! If you need anything else, be sure to let me know.

I do not have these options. Is there a way you can give this option to accounts other than enterprise? With all the Furloughs, we don't want to delete the users, but would like to deactivate them for when they return.

This should absolutely be an option for all users of Wrike. We can't delete the user as all comments then just show as 'Deleted User' so we have to use collaborator. The issue with this is that collaborators come up when @mentioning or assigning tasks, which is incredibly annoying.

We want to keep the history of the user, but they no longer require access.

Hey Alyssa Sharp and Dawn Kirby,

According to the Product team, there are currently no plans to implement this suggestion outside of Enterprise. I've shared all of your feedback with the team, and if there are any changes in status here, I'll be sure to let you know.

I share the frustration of not having this option, this is really problematic

I know this is an old post, but working for a company that has greatly downsized during Covid this function only existing in Enterprise is ridiculous.  I'm in the travel industry we have downsized all of our SaaS contracts but none lost the amount of functionality that we lost in Wrike when we gave up our Enterprise licenses.  Without some level of compromise we'll have no choice but to look for alternatives.  I never thought that deactivating a users instead of deleting so we can retain history would be an Enterprise level concept.

Lisa, thanks for posting this response again, but once again, unless you have an enterprise license you can't deactivate a user.  The only option is to delete them and then you lose the history of what former team members did, unless you move it to another person and then you can't tell WHO did it.  Very unfriendly.
